Yes, you read right... 12 rooms at OKW.... 6 studios, 2 One bedrooms and 4 Two bedrooms for a June 2004 trip.

I only have enough points to book some of the rooms at OKW at the 11 month window and the rest I will have to book at the 7 months window.....

Which should I book first?

How likely is it to get all the rooms near each other.... Like within one cluster? Totally out of the question? Hmmmmmmmm

And I dont suppose I could get a point deal on booking so many rooms at once..... ROFLMBO

Any and all imput would be helpful!

Thanks!

Don't have a real answer but GOOD LUCK...just make sure that they link all the ressies in hopes of having all rooms near each other....

I think I'd book the 2 bedrooms first....my guess is that there are fewer of these but I'm sure there is an expert OKWer out there that will give you great advice..

I'd recommend that you use the 11 month window to book as many of the weeknights as you can. Save the weekend nights (Friday and Saturday) for the 7 month window.

If I were doing this, I'd call MS and ask them what tends to book first for June - studios, 1 bedrooms or 2 bedrooms. My "guess" is that studios book more quickly than the others. In any event, I think the experienced CMs at MS can give you some good advice.

Hope the trip is enjoyed by all!

Wouldn't it be easier to book 6 2 bedrooms and 4 studios? And split up the studio and one bedroom? Or won't your points fall right?

The trip consists of 12 seperate families..... not related.... so 12 rooms are needed.... but thanks for the idea....

Carol....... good idea about booking weekdays first... we will only be staying Sat- weds but those Sat points sure add up! Great tip!

I Would book the 2brd rooms first then 1brds then studios at the 7 month window. I also can get a studio at the 7 month window even at 3 months out for aug. Have you tried the Grand Villas yet? they are unreal I stayed in one and I was very impressed.

Jackie:)

NO!!!!

Studios go first!!

I would book all the studio reservations complete. Next, the weeknights for the one bedrooms, then the weeknights for the two bedrooms, then the missing weekends.

Weekends have the lowest occupancy rates, studios go first.

Even if the families are unrelated, consider booking 2 BR lockouts instead of separate studios and 1 BR units. It'll save a few points and will have little consequences otherwise other than the credit card issue. I agree, book the week nights and studios first starting from the first week night of your stay. Then when the 7 month window arrives for day 1, call and reshuffle your points using the 7 month points for day 1 and the free up points for the first unbooked day before the 7 month window opens for that day.

One other thing you could do is look to trade your points at the 7 month window with someone that has OKW points available. I don't know what the other resort you have is but I have done trades before to secure 11 month ressies and it worked out great.

Does the Studio portion of the lock out have a fridge and a microwave..... and how sure would I be to get lock outs and not dedicated??

Thanks!

A 2 bedroom lock-off is exactly a 1 bedroom and studio, it just cost less points when you book it as a 2 bedroom then booking it seperately. A lock-off will have the fridge and micro in the studio. I have been told if you reserve a lock-off it is gauranteed. Is there anyone out there who has reserved a lock-off not gotton one?

I would do as others have suggested, book them as 2br's. Have the others x-fer the points needed to your acct and pool them so that you can make the ressies. That will save time, points, and headaches.

The idea of booking lock-off 2 bedrooms instead of a one bedroom and studio sounds good as far as saving points, but one thing I would be concerned about is that there have been reports that the same room key opens both doors - both the 1BR and studio. This might be a concern if the 2 families "sharing" the lock-off aren't related.

Well all the points are ours... so no need to transfer them..... LOL

And the same key opening both rooms shouldnt be an issue.... for the most part.... We may not be related but I trust most of the people coming more than some of my family!

You may have missed the oint about transferring points. I think the idea was that you might find someone ( not the people you are traveling with) with OKW points who would trade for your other points ( depending on what home resort they are) and then you would have enough points at OKW for the 11 month window. You would need to check the rent trade board for that.
