I am blessed

What a great post and a reminder to all of us to consider the things that make our lives blessed. It may not be wealth or all the things our heart desires but I am sure that each of us has things that we are thankful for in our lives. Thank you for giving time to pause and think of those things.

Amen! There's a lot of negativity out there and it's nice to step back and realize how fortunate we are. I'm blessed to have a decent job that has good healthcare, pays my bills, allows me to live in a nice apartment, drive my dream car and go to WDW twice a year!!! I have a full pantry, a stocked fridge, an a closet full of clothes to wear. I've got 3 furbabies that curl up in my lap every night. I have a darling niece that I'm very close to, my parents are still healthy and living in a nice retirement community where they have lots of friends. I live in a country that allows me to worship as I choose,speak openly about my faith or comment on my leaders without being imprisoned or killed.
Do I daydream about having more? Sure, everyone does. I'd love to have the kind of money to pay off DN's student loans, pay my parents' bills, and take a big family vacation to WDW with all the cousins.

I too am blessed! I have a wonderful DH who is also my very best friend, two beautiful, smart, happy kids, a great home and supportive friends and family! Who could ask for more?????

It's not that I equate being blessed to money, it's just the dental thread and welfare rant thread made me realize just how lucky in life I am.

I didn't think you did, I hope my post didn't sound like I thought you were just concerned with money. I never know how my ramblings are going to come across on the puter.

I was just really impressed that you stopped and took the time to think about how blessed you were and then took the time to post which caused all of us to do the same.

I didn't mention last time the things that I have been blessed with in my life but here are some of those blessings.

I have a great husband of 13 years who treats me like an absolute Queen, 2 kids that are the other loves of my life, a good job that I like (most days ), that pays well and when combined with my husbands, affords us the ability to do most of the things we want including vacations, family that loves us, friends that care about us, a warm house and plenty of food.

Fitswimmer-- You're welcome. Sometimes, it we get so caught up in the day to day that we overlook the big picture. I just had a small realization (something that has continued to stay with me) of what a wonderful life I truly have.

TiggerandTink--I didn't take it offensively. I actually take very little that way, despite what someone might try and tell me. It's just as I re-read my post, I thought, gee, sounds very money focused, and I wanted to be clear--to all those others who might see it it as hailing the allmighty dollar.
