Well most of you know. My DD 17 is the worlds worst driver. she has had 2 accidents in her first year out. one total loss, one about $3600 in damage.

Why do I bring this up you say... well lately her car has been fine no accidents finnaly....

Today I am going out shopping with my mom and lunch. so I call DD tell her come home and go with us. So she does. When she comes to pull in my DH is in her spot in the driveway so she parks on the street. I have a very large hill of a driveway. Can you guess whats coming next? We pull down the driveway and I NAIL her car.
My van is in need of a new bumper and hind quarter. And her car is in need of an entire drivers side and probably a hood and tire and rims.

Lets just say she was not happy. She is laughing now. How can you not? given her history and I GO and do this much damage!!!! UUUUGHHH!

:earseek:

:o uh-oh Mom!
psssstt...you're supposed to LOOK when you're backing up!!

You are not and idiot. Mommy's make mistakes too!

On a very different scale, your story reminded me of one my siblings and I still laugh about of my Father.

We were all sitting down for dinner (5 kids plus Mom & Dad). I guess there'd been a rash of spills at previous meals so Dad was lecturing us all about how we need to be more careful. He let is know he was tired of milk being spilled at every meal and causing turmoil while it was cleaned up. He went on for a bit until he felt we'd fully understood he was serious (Dad wasn't usually the one who gave such lectures). As he finished, he put down the jar of mayonnaise he'd been holding... right on top of his glass which shattered and caused milk to go all over the table. Needless to say, the seriousness of his previous message was greatly diminished by that. :)

Hey these things happen. A while ago my dad was going to take my sister somewhere and he was waiting for her in the car. For some reason he decided to take the other car. So he and my sister get in the other car and drive away. As they're going down the street my dad looks in the rearview and sees my mom pulling out of the garage and wonders where she's going. Well, he watched the car roll down the driveway, cross the street and crashed into our neighbors mailbox. He realized that he left the car in neutral!!!! My mom was so glad that it was him that did it and not my sister. I can't even imagine how much trouble she would have been in if it had happened to her.

Several years ago, we had three cars in a two car driveway. We had just purchased a new car. I was backing my car out of the driveway, and forgot that the third car (one of the old ones) was on that side of the driveway, so I bumped it. Fortunately, I did no real damage--it was an '84 Rabbit hitting an '87 Golf at about 2mph, in 1992. But, we decided to park the Golf in the street. So our neighbor across the street backs out of his driveway and nails the Golf. He was angry with us because our car was parked in the street, but, at least he paid for the repair. We sold the Rabbit to a friend shortly afterward.

This may sound hokey, but accidents do happen...

Be kind to yourself, go eat some really good cheesecake...

:wave2:

Oh no, she found out you are human! Darn it, the rest of us wanted to keep that secret a little longer!:teeth:

Well, as they say, there's no use crying over spilled milk ;)

Hopefully someday, I can actually think this is funny. Until It gets repaired though;)

Even worse it was a beautiful day and all the neighbors were out on the cul de sac. So everyone saw the whole mess!

You're not an idiot,
that's why they call them accidents!
But let's give thanks there was no PERSON
in between your car & hers!
Driveway accidents give me the shivers...

I think this happens to everyone!

When I was younger and Sis and I were still living at home, boyfriend at the time came to pick me up. We had a "turn around" in our driveway. Sis had parked her brand new (picked it up that morning) car in the turn around. I told BF not to hit her car, he said ok and proceeded to "turn around" in her driver's side door.

Must say I did call him an idiot, but he had a warning not to do it!

OK, well, i was your daughter, and I was the worst driver. I should say, I was the most CARELESS driver!!! And each time I had an "incident" my mother would harrass me and LECTURE me. I got many speeding tickets as a teen. My mother has only ever had ONE speeding ticket (a few months ago  ) and ONE accident! I lectured on both accounts :teeth:

Sorry to hijack the thread, but LisaZoe, your daughter is abssoutly gorgeous.

I was thinking the exact thing! I've been seeing her all over tonight and I love the new picture with her face painted.

Back to your regularly scheduled thread.........
