I am a grown man, and I cried like a baby at Toy Story 3.

Saw it yesterday.:thumbsup2 I was really glad I put kleenex in my pocket.
Agree with above poster...why did they pick Lotso? I would rather see Mr Prickle Pants any day!!!! All those kids that have been hugging Lotso before seeing the movie are going to be like ***????:confused3

I saw the movie today and cried like a baby. I can cry pretty easy, but just thinking about the toys I have ignored over the years gets me teary :sad1: Excellent movie and I agree that it is odd that Pixar picked Lotso for the meet and greet :confused3 Oh well, only Pixar can make an animated movie that gets people to cry.

Why in the world is Lots O' Huggin' Bear walking around the park?

I am so pleased someone brought this up! I had heard that Lotso was a villian and expressed surprise to the members of our Disneyana Fan Club (NFFC) that he was chosen as a meet'ngreet character. I was told that I was overthinking it. Yes, I agree that having him out in the parks and in the DCA Pixar Play Parade is curious - especially because he was never "redeemed" like Big Baby and the other "evil" toys.

Yup, I had a case of the leaks. Great movie, loved it. Of course I knew they would get saved, but as the characters were heading to their certain doom I was like, "NOOOOO, my characters can't end like this!!!!".

I was not looking forward to Toy Story 3 because I wanted Pixar to create a whole new set of characters for me love and enjoy. I wanted an all new movie. I thought they were going to the well one too many times, but in the end it turned out awesome.

Don't worry about Toy Story 3 being our final farewell to these characters. Pixar has opened a studio in Vancouver and the rumor is they will be making Toy Story shorts with the further adventures of the Woody, Buzz and the gang in their new home - similar to the Cars shorts with Mater. The Toy Story shorts will be broadcast on The Disney Channel, ABC Family, etc, until there's enough of them for a DVD.

We saw it Saturday and got a little teary, DW more so than me. Only at the very end when Andy is giving everything to Maggie and describing them to her. Aside from that there were no tears. Well done movie, but not as amazing as people have been making it out to be, we didn't think. Better than TS2, as good as TS1. We still like How To Train Your Dragon better so far in 2010, but then, TS was never our favorite Pixar movie(s).

I have to wait until October .... YES OCTOBER its coming out in the UK, until i cry my heart out at this (i cry at so much!) .... my mind is working overtime wondering what has made all these hard grown up men cry????

Quite strangely i'm really looking forward to it :confused3

As the old saying goes, "the only difference between men and boys, is the price of their toys."

that doesnt make sense, i drive a rather costly escort cosworth and I cry like a baby (although i'm a girl so it doesnt apply to me he he)

I was well aware that the tear ducts would get a work out. It really hit home because my "Andy" (aka DS 18 Andrew) will be going off to college in the fall. :sad1:

Oh no, just writing about it brings out the tears...

My DH laughed so hard at Ken's fashion show that he went into a coughing fit. Hats off to Michael Keaton for bringing this new toy to life.

Loved, loved, loved TS 3. But, with three boys, we have always been a Toy Story family.

Teresa, yes, you are doomed! I well up at movies a lot. Sometimes a bit spills out (Up, for sure, at the early montage). This was unlike anything I'd ever experienced. I was sitting between DD5 and DD3, with DH on the other side of DD3. I was *sobbing.* It was all I could do not to have that huge, awful gasping sobby noise coming out with every breath. Across DD3, I could hear DH sniffling hard and passed him a wad of tissues. Crazy. It pushed a lot of buttons on a lot of levels. I'm tearing up just remembering it!

XO

There was a whole article in Entertainment Weekly this week with almost the exact same title as this thread! The guy who wrote the article got a little weepy too. Something I think everyone at Pixar should be so proud of! When was the last time you heard of a guy crying at the movies?

I cry at everything-it's the family joke that mom's going to cry.
I did not cry at TS3, I did get choked up, but didn't cry..I was too busy looking at my husband trying to surreptitiously wipe away the tears streaming down his face.:rotfl:
The only other movie he cried at was Marley and Me, so it's something to get him to cry.
Loved TS3 here!

We just got back from the world tonight and while we were there, we went to see Toy Story 3 @ Down Town Disney......I cried like a baby too! My DH did too! :lmao:

No crying for me ( okay so I am without a heart) but I will say that this is one of the best storylines Pixar has done yet IMHO.

They are going to have to put in some overtime to top TS3.

I don't think we cry out of sentiment or wistfulness at the passing of childhood or even because decent "people" are suffering a loss. I think we cry because we hope with all our hearts that, when it's our turn to experience such a loss, we will receive the same gift that Woody had: a chance to say goodbye so perfectly.

We are in the group of non crying fans. I believe had I gone with my children it would have been different. I went with DH and this week we are enjoying a break from parenting. The girls are with grandma and grandpa. But I'm sure when I take them it will be different.

On a sidenote, that baby freaked me out. I'm surprised I didn't have nightmares :)

Yes, Ken was hilarious.

As is Buzzo Lightano.

Just saw it a few hours ago....count us in as criers. My dd, 16, just sat there and sobbed. I wasn't far behind her.
She wanted to know if I had sold her life story (at 16, how much of a life story could it be!!!) to Pixar...she is exactly like Bonnie (think that was her name anyway). Too funny.
At least they ended it on an up-note..that was nice. We left the theater feeling very good...although dd did say that the next two years are going to be spent finding hiding places for her toys so as to not lose them when she goes off to college!!!
