I have learned sooo much from this board already but me and my family are going to disney world from feb 15-the 22nd.
I am not sure I am even planning this right, I feel so dumb! :rotfl:
anyways this is what I have planned so far and any kind of suggestions on tickets or anything would be awesome!
it is me my husband and I have a 9 yr old and 4 yr old both boys.
anyways, I am planning on renting a house close to disney for 7 days which will cost me about 600.00 a week on ebay, they had some really nice places.
anyways I figured if I cooked most nights that will save us money from going out to eat in the afternoon.
I saw on wdw,com that they had passes for florida residents for 3 days with hopper. for like 155.00. so I figured 3 days at wdw and 2 or 3 days at universal studios, haven't looked at pricing for those tickets yet, but ebay has some good deals. and rest the other day or so before we come back home.
does this sound like a very good plan or am I just being crazy? lol
I wish I had more time to spend there but I just don't know how to even plan it all when I get there, lol this is kinda frusterating :earboy2:
and I am running out of time :hourglass
any help would be great! I really appreciate it! :wave2:

I would rethink buying your tickets off of EBay. Tickets now require a finger scan and once used no one else can use them. You wouldn't know if someone had used those tickets till you get to the turnstiles.

There are places to get discounts on tickets other than EBay.

I am buying wdw tickets off of the disney website if I cannot find anything better than what they have there for florida residents and the universal studios I really don't know yet, but I figured if it was from a reputible seller it wouldn't be a problem would it?

They have those at Universal now, too?

I would go to mousesavers.com and sign up for the newsletter. She offers links to deals on tickets. There are other reputable places to buy discounted park tickets.

Hi Fellow Disney Fl resident here as well, check your Sunday Newspaper Travel section, They just advertised 79 dollars for a 3 play pass. which is a great deal, I just paid the 119.00 for Fl. residents over the holidays... My personal advise is dont purchase your tickets from ebay, I have heard really bad horror stories....I dont know what kind of discounts universal gets but you can always check on line........The house sounds good, we once did the same and it really helped save on food you just have to be willing to cook, or at least make sure there is a good microwave there and lots of frozen food or quick meals......If I think of anything else I'll post it....But defenitley check the new Fl resident rate for the park passes.... princess:

Three day tickets should be more like 120.00 for about 100.00 more you can get seasonal passes which get you in all year minus busy times in summer easter and christmas. We buy our passes, or tickets at disney store allowing us to buy 1, or 2 a month before we go. You activate the passes on your first visit to one of the parks. The seasonal passes come with some benefits, Discounts on dining, room rates, rec. activities, tours, etc.
As a FL res. you can get discounts on rooms, if you stay on property, that can save you on parking (9.00 a day) gas because you can take avantage of disney transportation. 600.00 a week is good, You might get a value resort for about 70.00 a day. Not as nice as a home, and food becomes an issue, however if your out at parks all day the only meal thats practical to eat at where your staying will be breakfast. I don't see you going back to eat, It sounds easier than it would be. We usually get a moderate or deluxe resort at disney keep snacks, cokes, and some breakfast stuff in the refrig. Hope some of that helps.

But defenitley check the new Fl resident rate for the park passes.... <so I can get these in my local paper? that would be absolutely awesome if I can get my hands on some of those.

can we take advantage of the transportation at disney if we stay off site?
man ya'll are sooo awesome!
I need to get some of those coupons and that we save me loads of cash! THIS IS GREAT!

That sounds to good to be true 79.00 sounds more like a room rate, you may want to check. The only thing I've seen is 120.00 for the 3 day which was a 4 day 2 years ago. Sign me up if that price is right.

You can but it's not as easy if you don't have a resort as your base
