I am a bit nervous about Drs visit tomorrow latest UPDATE page 2...Post 23

Glad you are getting the treatment you needed. I hope the other tests come back clear. Keep usposted. :grouphug:

OK...I went to the Dr this morning for all my results. My CT scan came up fine and most of the blood work did too. NO signs of diabetes. NO signs of a prior stroke. NO signs of Alzheimers.

My blood pressure has gone down but it is still a bit high so the Dr is now trying me on Micardis HCT instead of just Micardis to see if water retention has anything to dowith my BP still being too high. I start that tomorrow.

Also my cholesterol is 168 which the Dr liked but the bottom number is 102 and he says it should be below 100 so he put me on a low fat diet to see if I can get the bottom number down that little bit.

A part of the blood test was low(I think protein...not positive) but he said that most of the patients he has had blood work come in on have had low numbers so he wants to have my blood checked again in a few weeks.

So....for the most part I have had good news which is a big relief!!

Well... today I had the EGD and basically the results were not too bad. I have a hiatal hernia and the Dr said I will more than likely have to be on meds the rest of my life for it. He stretched the esophagus a bit also. But so far no cancer . There were a couple of tiny spots that they will test but he told my dh that he thought it might be from the ibuprofen 400 mg I have been taking. I do not remember very much from today though and my dh said he felt like he was living "Groundhog Day" because I repeated everything about 4 times. Since I was knocked out for the procedure it took me several hours to get back to normal. NOW I know why they say do not drive or make any major decisions on a day like today. I don't remember even how my glasses got back on my face!!!

We are still working with the blood pressure medicine. I am on the 3rd version and now am being tried on Micardis HCT 80 mg. I will go for yet another round of blood work to see how my organs are handling the increased dosage.

I have my second mammogram on 4/20. My GP said his paperwork said something about lymph gland with the left breast so I hope this next round of views will yield more answers.

I also decided to go for allergy testing since I have met the deductible for our insurance this year for the first time in my life. I go for this on 4/17.

So...... most of my news has been good news. I am having much fewer migraines, the reflux/gerd/hiatal hernia is going to get under control. My blood pressure is being worked on.I still have to get the next results from the mammogram and I go tomorrow to my gynecologist...(even though I don't think they will get to do the pap tomorrow since(monthly visitor and I could not think straight enough today to call and cancel). All in all I guess I am basically healthy which is a big relief.

Thanks to those that have been concerned.

Hoping they get you regulated and you feel better soon.

You sound like me....;) I have been cramming all my overdue tests in. Had blood drawn yesterday, mammogram next week.

I will keep you in my thoughts. It is rough to go do all this, but at the same time it feels like relief.

Next stop for me...the dentist. :scared1:

It's great that you're being proactive about your healthcare needs rather than waiting too late if you know what I mean.

Take care! :wizard:

Sounds like lots of good news, Sheila, glad to hear all seems like it is going well, the few things are being identified and addressed. Thanks for the update, continued good wishes.
