I am a believer...Owner's Locker is a must

Forgive me if this is a silly question but I'm still confused.....So does your anniversary date stay the same then every year?

Yes, it stays the same every year.

I might have the dates wrong, but my first (empty) Locker was delivered on November 19, 2008. It was returned to the warehouse (full) on November 23, 2008. The anniversary date for that Locker is November 23.

Thanks Tara! I've been checking out owners locker threads for ages and I think I'm ready to do it for this next trip. We're driving down but that will give me a chance to stuff my locker full of things I won't have to bring on upcoming trips.

How do you get the DIS special that people are mentioning? We have been on the fence about signing up and my DH dosen't think it's worth it for only one trip a year, sometimes 2. If there is a better offer we may go for it.

I went to owners locker website using the link on dis board and when it asks where did you hear about us i checked the box that said dis and the discount appeared. I have already decided my Dec trip I am not checking luggage!

I have heard they are ending the DIS/AllEars/other partner type discounts on June 30th.

I went to the website and entered DIS as how I heard about OL but it doesn't say anything about 2 visits per year. It does give a $30 discount off the $75 fee. Am I missing something?

:thumbsup2 I....had...to ...order...a ...OL...tonight. Mawhhaahhaa! DH thinks I am crazy. Well we can try it and see. I already have 50 things on my list. DH is at the Fire Dept working tonight and has the guys trying to come up for a name for the locker. I will have to let you all know how that goes. I am so excited. Now the purple van will be pulling up to AKV for me!:woohoo:

Welcome to the purple fold! :thumbsup2

;) Thanks Tara. I just finished creating my first Locker list and already have 50 things listed. I used my Jedi Mind Trick to bring DH to the Purple Side.

ToddyLu....I just did the same thing. I have a list started for our trip as well. This will be fun and worth a try...

Select Mousesavers as how you heard about them and it knocks off the $50. The offer does end on June 30th

But it doesn't include any free visits - which might not matter to some people.

Mousesavers:
one-time membership fee - $25 ($50 off the standard $75 fee)

DIS:
one-time membership fee - $45 ($30 off the standard $75 fee)
1 free visit per year for 3 years - $25 savings per year ($75 savings total)

All Ears:
one-time membership fee - $25 ($50 off the standard $75 fee)

If you only go 1x per year, then Mousesavers or All Ears offers the most savings. Both of these discounts state they are ending on June 30th. The DIS discount is better for those who are going more than 1x per year. The DIS discount page doesn't state whether it ends on the 30th or not - I would guess it will, but I'm not sure.

I'm so glad I signed up!! Just got back late last week from my "filling the locker" trip. My main bag weighed a whopping 49.3 lbs (Air Canada lets you birng 50 lbs on), plus I had a packed carry-on too. On the way back I could life my bag with one hand, carried back my souveniers, and the carry-on was packed inside the luggage.

I was half surprised that my owners locker held it all, and the other half was surprised that it was so full byt he time I got it packed!! The only thing that came close to not fitting was the full sized griddle, but by putting it on a bit tilted I got 'er done!

I just love updating my list of stuff in my locker....it really is amazing how much that thing holds...love it love it love it...and I was one who said I would NEVER EVER rent one...HA...best money I've spent in a long time! Even DH agrees, who holds onto a penny until it screams!

They'll be pulling up for us too! We took the plunge a few days ago. Much to the pain and distress of my husband who is in absolute sticker shock... I explained that we have 1 year, riske free, full money back and in that year we'll get our initial trip, PLUS our honeymoon (slash 2 year anniversary... we're late) AND our next year's trip for our first halloween trip, all covered. That will give us a great taste for all it has to offer and whether it's worth continuing (which I have no doubt it will be, but he's a whole other story!)

I started my list already too! I've also started taking the things from my list that I already have, and have begun putting them into a similar sized tote in my house, to get an idea how much this will realistically hold. THEN I showed my husband a half full tote, and the list of other stuff that's going into it - told him to lift it half full (already somewhat heavy) and told him that he's only going to have to lift and carry that stuff through the airport ONCE!

... he's warming up to the idea a bit :ssst: :lmao:

I'm kind of on that fence too. It would be nice to not have to pack those items that I take every trip, but I haven't decided that it's worth $100..:confused3

To anyone that feels this way, I'd say TRY IT - with the satisfaction guarantee you have nothing to lose. I was quite the skeptic when the idea was first proposed, but as I managed to qualify for the free beta trial of course I signed up. I loved it so much I then ordered a second locker (I think I was one of the first to do so), for which I gladly paid the fee. When we moved within driving distance I (reluctantly) canceled the second locker as I found I was no longer using it all that much. John and Brian were wonderful about the change and never made me feel the least bit awkward about canceling the OL. They realize it is a unique service and while it may not be for everyone, (IMO) it truly is a service that for many needs to be experienced in order to truly "get" just what a great value it can be.

I couldn't live without mine. Once you have one, it makes packing for other destinations feel really complicated.

I SO agree! Thought it was just me, but really, it makes other packing such a chore!
