There seems to be a child posting insults here on the CB, and it's rather annoying. To the point that I actually took the time to go into the person's profile and chose "ignore".

Sheesh!

Suzanne

At least, if the child decides to post on this thread, I won't see the insipid insults.

Don't forget that if something bothers you that much you can choose to report it to the moderators of that board. Just use the report this post to moderator button found at the bottom of the post. :)

Do you need to report that poster? There's a button on the threads that will allow you to do so. If the poster is being really offensive, don't hesitate to report as well as ignore.

I had sent several alerts on the 'kid' about 30 minutes ago. Looks like a troll kid. He is over on the Cruise board too.

Kat,

No, I'd never ignore you! The person posted a thread that Epcot smells like cheese, and I stupidly opened that one...then I noticed that almost every thread that I've been posting on today has a comment from this person (whom I'm guessing is between the ages of 11 and 15).

Your report must have worked Dan, because I no longer see the "Epcot smells like cheese" thread on (up to page 3) the CB.

TY.

It looks like they shut him off about an hour ago. Hopefully for good, at least under that name. But he/she, or others like them, will be back, they always do. Just need to try and keep a clean house.

I also noticed that this preson replied to a thread I had also replied to earlier and his/her reply is not there now but the rest of the replies are.

So just out of curiousity...what actually takes place when you use the "ignore" option? You just don't see any threads/posts from this person? Or how does it work? What if, for argument's sake, they try to pm you? Just was never really sure how that ignore button worked.

I love ignore! LOL

Susan,
On a post it will stillhave their name but beside it instead of their post it will say This Person is on your ignore list click here to read it. I dont think they can PM you but I'm not sure.

Susan, go to my profile and find the ignore link. Click on it and then I will be on your ignore list. Go to any of my posts, originals or replies and see how it looks. It is not perfect, but it helps. I used ignore here some time ago and it was helpful, to a degree, to eliminate that 'person' from interfering with my time on the DIS. And PM's are not received from an ignored poster. To take a person off of ignore, go to your 'User CP' and 'Edit Ignore List' and take the name out. If you want to leave me on ignore, don't delete me from your ignore list. :)

You see that the person replied to a thread, but not the contents...it states that you have ignored this user. Don't know what happens with PMs.

There have been a few people who irritated me before (not many), but it's easy to ignore when they aren't posting everywhere.

Suzanne

Thanks Meagan and Dan. And Poohnatic too!

I think I will play around with it and see what happens.

And Dan, I'll never ignore you! ;)

Thanks again guys. :)

With pm's, he/she can send it, but it won't show up in your pm box. You won't have to worry about getting their pm's. However, I think the pm's he/she sends uses up your pm limits anyway. It's best to take the person off of ignore temporarily from time to time so you can delete his/her pm's so he/she won't flood your pm box with his/her dribble, then put him/her back on ignore.;)

PLease don't assume that every immature person on these boards is a young person. I am proud to be a moderator on the teen board where we have some AMAZING posters who yes happen to be young but i can think of some adult posters who are much worse than the teen posters

I wasn't assuming that at all. Based on the nature of the posts, however, it definitely appeared to be a juvenile. The references that were made in the various posts were indicative of a young boy.

Sorry if I gave the impression that I was bashing all young people...I was not. In my career (and in a previous job), I deal with A LOT of kids.
