I actually got a PIN!

I was starting to get a complex that I wasn't getting any PIN codes. A little while ago, I checked a home Email address I use for only a few sites, and there was an offer from Disney Destinations for 40% off.

Only problem is that the deal I really want is Free Dining for around Labor Day. I may call the number in the Email and tell them that. Not that I think they can offer it to me, but maybe the CM will give me hope it will happen soon.

BTW, one thing is true--if you want a code, check every Email address you have. I don't recall ever giving this one to Disney. I used a different one (that I do check almost daily) for my trips last year.

That is funny. I got the free dining code, but was hoping for 40% off around Christmas.
What are the 40% off dates they offered? (If you don't mind my asking)
Just happy to get a discount of any kind!!!!

Looks like the 40% off is good for blocks of dates until the end of the year:

May 31–Jun. 6
Aug. 23–Oct. 3
Oct. 25–Oct. 31
Nov. 15–Nov. 21
Nov. 29–Dec. 5
Dec. 13–Dec. 24

I c/p'ed these dates from the Email. Must be booked by 3/31.

I'm going to call and see what the terms are. I'm guessing that it's $200 down with the balance due 45 days before arrival.

The dates I want to travel fall within these dates so it's very tempting to book the last 3 nights at the Polynesian with this deal, then grab the first 6 nights at Pop for Free Dining when it comes out--if it comes out--knock wood!

I called for more details on the PIN. The 40% off offer is for resort rooms only so to use it, I’d need to put down one night’s stay and pay the balance on arrival.

I asked about both the Polynesian and Animal Kingdom Lodge, and now I'm tempted to book the Animal Kingdom Lodge for the last two nights of our trip in September. I’d start the trip at Pop with Free Dining, then switch resorts. Any dining credits we have left from the Free Dining will be good for our first day at AKL plus we’ll have park tickets left from the FD portion.

Hmmm….what to decide?

BTW, I asked the CM if she knew if and when Free Dining will be offered to the General Public. She thinks it will be offered the same way it has been in the past—that is, that it will come out the second week of April. She said that there are loads of discounts being offered so she can’t see Disney not doing the traditional FD. There would be too much of an uproar if they didn’t, she said, and also said they are getting lots of calls lately asking about it.

Thanks for the dates. I wish I could still get the 40% off, it's much cooler in Dec. than Oct.(lol).
I hope the CM was right and free dining will be available to everyone soon.

Yes. PIN codes are customer specific. In order to receive the 40% off you have to receive the PIN from Disney through the mail or email.
