My wife and I haven't had the privilege of driving down the eastern seaboard to the Orlando area in about 10 years...

My 4 year old (more like 5) and 2 year old (weeks from 3) have never gone via car before...and we are trying it out on two day drives this coming weekend.

We'll hussle and probably won't stop for food too much...but would like to give them time to burn off some energy/ stretch their legs when we do stop.

Has anybody had experience with public parks/ recreation areas that are within a short distance of 95 from Virginia down to the Florida state line?
I mean pretty close...not out of the way like Myrtle or Hilton Head or someplace where its gonna turn into a 2 hour odyssey.

Thanks:thumbsup2

LOL... It can be kinda skeezy at times... But there is always South of the Border (on the NC/SC border). Bonus is that with the signs leading up to it, you can make a game of it in the car to help keep them occupied thru most of NC and look forward to the stop.

I think the Welcome centers also are pretty nicely sized and may have some space for the kids to run around a bit. If nothing more, i think I recall some dog walk/picnic type grass area away from the main traffic flow where maybe they could get away with a game of catch or frisbies/etc while stretching.
