Slightly off the WDW subject, but there is a Disney connection and I know there is no better place to ask!

DH & DS have snagged tickets to the 2005 US Open at Pinehurst! Of course, ALL hotels in close proximity were booked long ago for players and their families and Pinehurst houses are going for $12,000 - $20,000 :eek: SO, they have decided the best place to stay is Lumberton.

Can you give me any information on any of the hotels they are considering? ...how clean, new, safe, etc...

The three contestants are:
1. Hampton Inn
2. Country Inn & Suites
3. Fairfield Inn

BTW - the WDW connection is that our other 3 kids and I get a quick MCO trip this October!
::yes::

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn in May, 2003 on the way to Hilton Head. Worked out great. I am a fan of Hampton Inn hotels though and usually try to stay at one of those.

We stayed once at the Hampton Inn in Lumberton. We warned that it is not an original hampton Inn. It was another property & is now a Hampton Inn. There were outside entrances to the rooms rather than inside corridors.

Last May we stayed at the Country Inn & Suites. We & the guest in front of us thought this was a fairly new property - it was a few years old. It was clean, has inside corridors, a morning breakfast, etc. I would stay there again.
