Hi. We will be travelling down to FW from NY in August. We will be taking our travel trailer and DH wants to stop at campsite(s) along the way. Does anyone know of any that are not that far off of I-95?

you didn't say where you think you want to stop for the night--we almost always stay at the Swamp Fox Campground in Florence, SC on our way down from the eastern panhandle of WV to FW--clean, inexpensive, and pull-through. the software won't let me post a link b/c I don't have enough posts, it's easy to find via google.

we also stayed at the campground at South of the Border--also clean, inexpensive, and pull-through.

hope this helps!

Can't beat the price for staying at the South of the Border Campground which we have done almost each time we have traveled by RV to Florida from Maine.
The Florence KOA was nice also...

We have stayed @ Yogi Bear in Emporia Va., KOA just across the NC border also used South of the Border all has pull thru and not far from 95.

We will be staying at New Green Acres Campground in Walterboro, SC on our return trip to Ohio (April-2007). Never been there before, but it's right off of I-95 (exit 53). When pulling our trailer, we usually use Google Earth to get a good "view" before we select a place. Happy Travels..!

We stayed at Point South KOA in Yemassee (sp?), SC on our way down last month. It was just off of 95. We liked it and would stay again. I think it was about 30 miles or so from the GA border.

Sorry I didn't get here to thank everyone sooner. I was having computer problems! :badpc: Anyway, thanks to you all for your recommendations!

You absolutely have to get a copy of The Next Exit. This is the best tool you could have for interstate travelling. We stayed at MacIntosh Lake RV Park at exit 58 in Georgia last January. It was $18.50 for full hook-up. The next morning we pulled out at 8:00 am and arrived at the fort by 12:30.

There are ton's of campgrounds along I-95 so get that book and it will help you tremendously. :thumbsup2

I agree with lawnspecialties, The Next Exit is awesome..! We just use the online version and cut/paste into Word the routes that we need. There is also a website dedicated to I-95 Exit information - usastar.com/I95 :thumbsup2

We've stayed at Green Acres in Walterboro, SC 4 times now and it's right off of I-95. All of their spaces are pull through, they have full hook ups including cable and you get all of that for about $25 a night.

We are heading down to WDW on 5 Feb and coming back on 2 March and we will be staying at Green Acres in both directions.

I would also recommend the I-95 website. There's a great amount of information that includes nearby camp grounds, gas stations, and eating establishments.
