A few years back we were driving to WDW along I-75, and after Ocala there
were billboards advertising a Parks info broadcast on the radio. I didnt see the billboard on my last trip. Does anyone know if the station still exists? I have Sirius and the kids want to try to win a prize on Radio disney while we are driving down.

Three weeks to go!!!! :yay: :woohoo:

Nope, that particular radio station is gone. I haven't seen it since 1999.

It was heavy on the sugar and sappy and we could only listen to it about one loop.

Those broadcasts have been gone for a long time now and I also remember seeing the billboards. I also have a funny story about them. Driving southbound towards WDW we could not pick up the station, however driving northbound going back home the station was working. I thought to myself great the one time I get to hear it is when my family and I are driving home. :sad1:

That station was on an FM frequency assigned to Columbia, Florida, a small burg near Lake City. It was only listenable for about a 20 mile or so range. It's goal was to get you to stop at the Disney Information Center in Ocala, where you could purchase tickets and (more importantly), book a Disney hotel room for your stay. Billboards only faced the southbound lanes of I-75. The recording repeated itself about every half-hour with the latest Disney area weather forcast between loops. "No matter what the weather is outside, it's always a beautiful day at Disney World."
