That route would be way longer I'm guessing
According to Google maps, it adds about 40 miles to the trip. If you want to take the chance through Louisville, go ahead, but I bet you'll be slowed down AT LEAST 30 minutes (commuters are saying their 30 minute "normal" route now takes 1 1/2-2 hours). You asked about current construction, I would say this qualifies. That route would be way longer I'm guessing
If anyone has traveled this route lately how was it? Any construction to worry about?
Maybe because we are on west side of MI. I 75 is 3 1/2 hours away from us![]()
Your title says MI to FL...MI is Michigan. So, why would you go anywhere near Louisville? I-75 goes from Michigan all the way to Florida. Louisville is way west of 75. No need to ever get off of I-75 at all...stay on it all the way to FL.
According to Google maps, it's an extra 40 miles (taking 74 to 75). I wouldn't take the chance of Louisville with that short of difference. I agree if it was a 3-4 hour "detour", I'd take my chances with 65, but that's not the case. Not sure why 65/74/275/75 isn't an option-I live 200 miles from Indianpolis either taking 64/65 or 75/275/74 and take the 75/74 option all the time. I'm not sure how it can be many more miles since 74 angles SE.
Is there a particular reason to stay in Valdosta? If you leave Kennesaw at 9AM, you should be at Disney ~6pm.DD just drove through and she knew the bridge deal....you have to get through Louisville before rush hours, same with Nashville all the way until your on I-24 for a few miles then your safe. She said Atlanta same rush hour times but they are doing lots of construction at night (midnight and on). We are staying in Kennesaw GA and leaving hotel by 9:00am which should put us through 10am -10:30 or so, then we'll stay in Valdosta and finish up Monday to DISNEY. I think Louisville is a tight squeeze for just a little bit, but Nashville can go on...and on...and on....We have gotten out of our car in horrible traffic and sat on the hood and made friends with other drivers(we had a cooler full of drinks and snacks for our trip) bless their hearts they tried to give us money and we said no and when we got back in the car two 20 dollar bills were in my seat.
