I <3 Super Goofs in February

Rich Hope you recovered from whatever ails you.

Liz What's the countdown now for return to riding? Hope it corresponds with the arrival of Spring!

AFM.....finally decided to go see the doc about my groin strain.Have an appt for Monday. Today I tried to run, but from the first step it was bad,so I stopped. I sound like a broken record! I'm getting kinda pissed at this. I see people running at the gym and it makes me mad. On the plus side--if there is one---I am doing way more biking (indoors) since this doesn't hurt.

The worst part of going to the doc is trying to explain the nature and location of the pain and the circumstances it occurs. Makes me wish for the Empath from an old (original) Star Trek--someone who could just lay their hands on you and literally feel your pain. That would make it much easier for us patients!

Maura - sorry it's not getting better but glad you're going to see doc. Sometimes it is hard to explain exactly where/how/when the pain occurs but have to try. Agree an empath would make it much easier.

I've been back to riding since about 3 weeks after surgery. Trainer only for the first 6 weeks until strength came back to the leg then it was only short distance, no speed, no hills. Gradually built it up. Hill work still causes some pain but good otherwise. Naturally been back on the trainer for the winter.
At the end of March I'll be able to go back to my cycling shoes/clips. :yay: Those had been off limits due to the twist motion to release.

How is everyone else doing?

@Maura - Thanks. I made kettlebell both times this week, but it wasn't easy. (And I just woke up from a nap - I could go back to sleep, but I have a cake that I need to bake this afternoon.) I'm mostly over it, but I'm still kind of weak. Bleh. Worst I have been sick in years.

I hear you on the doc issue. Explaining that kind of stuff to someone else is never easy, and there is (for me, anyway) always the fear that they will decide I have problem X, and treat for it, but I really have problem Y, but did not explain it well enough to get treated for it.
