We’ve been to Disney many times but next year will be the 1st for our 5yr old daughter. We plan to go for 7nights. I’m wonder if we should just concentrate on magic kingdom take 3 days to go through park. Since we plan on character meets and doing princess boutique. She’s not a real toy story fan. And the rest of that park wouldn’t be for her. I’ll take a day for animal kingdom. And of course my favorite EPCOT. We plan on staying at Polynesian

Any suggestions on mking the most of our trip

We always do at least 3 days in MK, and we break the park up and thoroughly do one chunk each day, usually working clockwise around the park. This gives you at least 9 FPs in MK, so you can really take your time and absorb the atmosphere. We also do 2 days in Epcot, one for FW and one for WS, but we are huge Epcot fans. I agree with a little one who doesn’t like toy story, DHS isn’t worth a visit. Definitely do AK though, your DD should love it.

How many park days do you plan on having?

For 7 nights, I’m assuming you’re doing 6 full park days. If you don’t want to park hop, definitely do 3 at Magic Kingdom. Also, I would do one at Epcot (Akershus is the princess meal you’ll want to do here), 1 at AK and then I would still visit Hollywood Studios if you can. Even if she doesn’t like Toy Story, there are some shows at HS she might enjoy like the Frozen Sing Along, Voyage of the Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. If you don’t want to spend all day at HS, maybe do a character breakfast at one of the Epcot resorts to try to break up the day (Trattoria al Forno is a good one, has Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, Ariel and Prince Eric).

If you get park hoppers, you’ll have a bit more leeway as to what parks you want to visit, and maybe add more time at a certain park and take some time away based on what your daughter is liking or not liking.

And a quick, fun little tip - a lot of princess stuff at Disney comes with a high price tag. Check out the Princess Promenade at the Grand Floridian every afternoon. It’s free and a unique chance to see Cinderella and Prince Charming.

My suggestion would be to have a nonpark day to recharge. Visit the pool, enjoy your resort or hotel, shop. Then you will enjoy the other park days more. Maybe have dinner at 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Flo - It is buffet and has the characters from Cinderella visiting the tables. The stepsisters are hilarious!

I have two daughters: one is five and one is eleven, and she was at Disney when she was five.

Both girls love HS.

My younger one rode Tower of Terror when she was three and loved it. We ride it every time- often multiple times.

For a five year old, there are some great shows. Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Frozen are all very good shows and wonderful for a little girl of that age.

My older daughter always wants to see Indiana Jones, and they both love Star Tours.

There are characters at HS that you can’t meet at other parks, also- like Olaf, Doc McStuffins, and Sophia the First. There won’t be many more years she will want to meet those characters since they are for younger kids (with the possible exception of Olaf, whom we all love).

Sci Fi is my older daughter’s favorite restaurant on property. We always make and ADR there.

My kids also love Fantasmic. It is such a beautiful show.

Neither of my girls are big Toy Story fans, but they like the ride. They like to score points and play the games.

And Muppets, while not a priority, is cute if you just want a short line and a seated break.

No way would I skip HS with a five year old girl.

If I couldn’t add an extra day to go there, I’d do two at MK and one at HS.

Doc McStuffins is at AK as well.

I stand corrected. At Conservation Station, right? She doesn’t show up in the app as being there, but she does on the website.

Somehow we never seem to have time to make it over there. I think a lot of guests skip it.

I suppose if that were an important character for the OP’s daughter they could make the trek.

Still, HS is worth a day.

Yeah, I don't think most people know she is there. I saw her a year ago there and there was no line whatsoever.
