Hyperspace Mountain or Goofy Movie is going to replace Aerosmith (Rumor)

Let's put ourselves in Disney's shoes. The Rock'n Rollercoaster is going to be due for re-theme soon. It's been the same for years, and Aerosmith is stale as a band. ...why would you choose an even more stale property like "The Goofy Movie" for theming? That just doesn't make any sense. Also, it takes a thrill ride aimed at teens and adults and orients it to kids; many of whom will be too small or scared to ride it.

GOTG makes much more sense here (not at ToT, or even EPCOT) right down to the music. I'm not making any predictions, just stating my opinion.
Aerosmith stale???
I'll never go to that stupid park again if they take Aerosmith out.

I didn't say they weren't good. I like their music...but it is STALE. They haven't released any new, relevant music in years. They were carefully selected for being edgy - but not TOO edgy - and who else can replace them??? I don't know, but I get a feeling that we shall see...
The Bieb? lol that would suck

I have to agree that they are stale. No new music, not touring= no merchandise sales.

Yes, I am talking about the future of the ride. Disney will latch to something that will sell merchandise. RnRC is a fun ride and I will continue to ride it no matter what it is. I do think its a very well themed ride and hope they put as much into it as they did this one. But the fact remains that Aerosmith is out the door. Just like Grateful Dead, they will always have their followers but that doesn't make Disney Money. RnRC will get a fresh coat of paint slapped on it just as FEA did I'm afraid.

I got $2 that says it'll be these guys:

...and I agree with the meme too. :)

I think it is inevitable that they will one day re-theme Rockin' Roller Coaster, but not anytime soon. They can't take an e-ticket like that offline while DHS is in such a shambles. Once Star Wars Land and Toy Story Land are up and running, then we might see a change. I think ol' Aerosmith still has a few good years in it for this ride.

It's going down for something from 10/27/16-11/9/16. Sounds like way too short a time to go in and do any sort of change over, but definitely not too short a time to rip down aerosmith stuff. There's also some kind of Powerline announcement set for 9/22. It's been advertising on facebook and if I see it pop up again I'll paste it here. I didn't bother to click because I wasn't a very big fan of A Goofy Movie as a kid. Powerline's voice actor was also at D23 last year and did a concert for the 20th anniversary of the movie. Obviously none of that is them saying "we're doing the thing!" but that's interesting tidbits in my opinion. Maybe they're testing the waters with ideas for the ride? I'm about to be 30. I can appreciate Aerosmith and realize that they're a Really old brand at the same time, and this ride is nearly as old as A Goofy Movie's IP. 1999 vs 1995 isn't That far apart. And at least they own A Goofy Movie (as far as I know).

As much as I do like Aerosmith, unfortunately I have to agree that they not as relevant as they used to be.

If or when they ever decide to do a refurb of RRC hopefully it is not some boy band. Maybe a TRON Speeder bike coaster…I know they would need to change the train out and it may not work but it is no worse of a thought than Hyper Space Mountain. Whatever it is it would need to be cross generational as much as possible.
