Hyatt Regency @ Orlando Airport Qs

My Mom and I stayed at the Hyatt twice, the night before our cruise and the night after. The first stay was an airplane view and the second was an atrium view.

View from the 9th floor. (I think)

Neither balcony had chairs or a table on them.

The night after our cruise we arrived early due to our DCL transfer and we were not able to check in at 9am but we were able to have our luggage stored. The clerk at the desk put our names on a list. My Mom and I took public transportation (the bus) from the airport to Downtown Disney and had lunch, walked around and shopped. Not sure what they allow you to do if you haven't checked in yet since we did the DTD things.

No chairs on the balcony? :( This is not good. For the price of this hotel, they should have a place to sit on the balcony. Oh, well. It's not the highlight of the trip so I guess it will be ok. I just think thats a little cheap of hotels.

I imagine part of it has to do with the atrium down below. They don't want some nut throwing a chair over the rail.

Thanks, I was just wondering about weather we could access the food court from the Hyatt. That will be perfect so we'll have many choices for whatever we are in the mood for. We plan to eat on our balcony & relax our last night in FL. I'm actually really excited to stay here, now. It will be cool to see the planes take off, something different.

Unless things have changed there's not much room to eat on that balcony. And of course as other's have pointed out "no chairs"

You could go eat by the outdoor pool?

This is what I was thinking too because I was in the Orlando Airport today. I see what you mean.

You know, they could bolt down some really nice luxurious chairs down. For the rate of one night stay, they could afford a really comfy set of chairs for their guests.

That sounds very nice right now actually. :goodvibes

I would bolt the funiture down because I have another concern. Forgive me for bringing up such a grim subject matter here, but we had a man jump to his death from the top level of a shopping mall down into the subway station level while I was living in San Francisco. People that angry at the world wil sometimes try to take other people with them. While I am sorry to raise this sad subject here, I am sure that the insurance company has made it an issue for the hotel.

Eww that is really sad. You could be right w/ the insurance. I'm sure they have reasons. All balcony issues aside, I think it seems like a lovely hotel.

We have stayed at the Hyatt MCO four different times. First time was the night before a DCL cruise. We had purchased the DCL transfers and noted it on our reservation. Upon checkin they gave us a paper with all the instructions regarding luggage transfer, etc. We were on the first bus to the port the next morning.

The second time was when our 9:30pm flight was cancelled and rebooked for the next morning. We used a cell phone to book it on the spot. We told the airline rep that we were going to stay at the Hyatt and our luggage was delivered to our room.

Third time was when we arrived in Orlando at 9:30pm with a 6 and 4 year old. We figured it was better to get them to bed ASAP and not face the Magical Express bus ride so late at night. The kids were exhausted and we ordered room service. The next morning we took an early ME bus.

Most recently (June, 2012) we booked a day only rate after getting off a DCL cruise when our flight wasn't leaving until 7:30pm. At checkin the clerk noticed our pre-teens and asked if we would like a room near the pool. We were in a runway view room on the same floor as the pool access. Very nice.

The Hyatt doesn't come cheap, but I have had some good Senior discounts (my Mom was with us) and AAA discounts. I have never had a bad experience there. And, I agree that the beds are super comfy. We ate at the food court in the mall most recently. Worked great!:)
