Hyatt Place vs Hyatt House in San Juan?

Hey guys!

We’re headed out of San Juan on the Magic next month and I currently have a room booked at both the Hyatt Place and Hyatt House for our pre-night. I’d love some suggestions from anyone who has stayed there previously? Obviously we’re gonna cancel one or the other and I’d like to do that soon so someone else can grab the room if they need to.

Specifically, I’d like to have a view of the ship from the hotel and relatively easy access to surrounding restaurants and shops. From what I can tell, the hotels seem pretty similar, so any tips or suggestions you can provide would be amazing. Thanks so much!

They Hyatt House properties that I stay at (DC Area) provide full kitchens if that is of interest.

Stayed at the Hyatt Place last year for a night before our cruise (as did many others on our cruise). I felt it was a good choice. Nice pool area. Walked to the T-Mobile District and Sheraton hotel, which has a casino and Texas de Brazil steakhouse on the ground floor. Breakfast was okay - standard complimentary hotel breakfast fare. Can't speak to the Hyatt House. Both are only about 5 minutes to the cruise port, though.

Thanks, everyone.

Were you able to see the ship from the hotel? Not a dealbreaker if not but we really like being able to wake up to a view of the ship from our experiences in Vancouver, San Diego and New Orleans.

We couldn't from our room, but our room faced away from the port. A room on the other side on a higher floor may be able to see it.
