I just called the Hyatt and was quoted a day room rate of $142.50. I have seen several threads stating travelers have been able to get a rate of $60.00.

Am I doomed to take a 142.50 rate x 2 (because we have 7 people travelling) or is there a trick to securing the lower rate?

Please help if you can! (I did use the search tool before I posted -- just can't find the answer to my question)

PhotoLisa~ you could try Priceline too. We got our precruise Hyatt MCO room for $39 + tax = $50. But, why gamble- for $10 more you have a sure thing at the Hyatt. On Priceline, you could get the Hyatt, or other surrounding hotels at the Airport...

Thanks for posting that Nick. That's good to know- $60 is a good deal for a day room.

When I was quoted that rate, I had called the hotel direct. I even questioned the booking agent on the rate and told him several other people had commented the rates they received were $60.00. He was kinda like - "sorry, Charlie".

I even asked if the reason for the rate was because their allotment of $60 rooms had already been sold.

I got nowhere with him.

I just got off the phone with the 800-Hyatt number and was able to book 2 rooms at $60 each.

Moral of the story -- don't call the hotel direct -- call the 800-233-1234 number!

Whew -- that is a relief!

Thanks for all the responses -- this place is GREAT!
