He says he doesn't want anything, we're saving for our April WDW trip...and I'm trying to come up with something fun and homemade. My kids are 9,7,7 and 5- we've already done the calendar, photomug, personalized mouse pad, etc...for previous events. I am stuck on this one!
I'm having his family (in-laws) over as well- but I need to give him something!
Any ideas or help?!
thanks in advance!:worship:

What about making a countdown calendar for your trip using Disney Magic Artist? http://disney.go.com/magicartist/
The kids could each pick their favorite characters for each month and you can note any special dates on it.
Ask each of the children to draw a picture or write a poem/story/letter for dad. he'll melt

When my DH turned 40, my family and I came up with 40 small and inexpensive gifts. Things he would use or need and that I would end up buying anyway.

sodas (count each one)
batteries (count each one)
post-its
pens
candy
socks (count each pair)
veggies

It does not matter what it is...It was just fun for him to open 40 presents.:rotfl: :rotfl2:

Have friends & family write letters to him & make a scrapbook. Can you find or does he keep in touch w/childhood, HS or college friends? If not, can you find them? Letters from throughout his past.

Does he do Facebook or anything like that? As DH rolls through his 40s, he has become more interested finding people he's lost touch with. Could you set him up an account & try to find some for him? It'd be a big surprise to present the page & friends already loaded up & virtual bday wishes for him. If you're not familiar, you can join different groups -like HS class of 1990 & it will show all the people from that class that are signed up, etc.

Or how about a mix CD of special songs? Find one that came out each of his 40 years?

Or a jar with 40 slips of papers detailing different things you love about him? Maybe one from you & one from the kids? 40 coupons for different activities - free pass for 10 hugs, week off mowing lawn, whatever...

Thanks for the responses- all are excellent!:grouphug:

If he is concerned about the trip to disney, why not plan something special for him on the trip. Golf, a guided tour, Richard Petty, a fireworks cruise; something he will look forward to on your trip.
