What kind of sick person could drop a baby animal out of a moving car ????
Unfortunately, out here in the sticks, pets are dropped off/abandoned all of the time. As I said in an earlier post, we have no animal shelter in this town, so people will drive down a highway where my friend lives, and drop off their pets. She has taken care of many stray cats and dogs. I am so looking foward to the animal shelter opening in a few months. It is sorely needed around here since there seem to be so many people who don't consider having a pet a lifelong committment.

I don't even want to get started on what I think about people who have no feelings for animals.

So I'll be upbeat and say
IceQueen777 - thank God for people like you.

If you keep cutie pie - just come to us for any questions - we'll be the Disboard Godparents to Cutie Pie - How's that?

That sounds great! I'll need a crash course on litter boxes, toys, etc.

Cutie Pie will go back to the vet next week for a checkup with his leg. The vet said we will also need to do some basic tests and shots, that kind of thing.

YAY for you, IceQueen! It's people like you who give me hope for the world.

Depending on how old the little one is, he may already be litter box trained. You'll find cats MUCH easier than dogs in this regard. And good that you got kitten food...cats have much stricter nutritional needs than dogs, and really need a food specifically for them.

Keep us updated!!!!

Excellent news! I'm so happy there's a happy ending to this chapter. :)

If you do end up keeping him, can I recommend the book Think Like A Cat by Pam Johnson-Bennett? It's a FANTASTIC guide to owning a cat.

I just saw this now... so glad that the kitty will be okay. So sweet of you to take him in :)

I'm so glad the kitten wasn't seriously hurt, and that you came along and took care of him. Good for you! I hope he blends in well with the dogs. Cats are great pets.

I am so happy that Cutie Pie will be ok. You are a wonderful person for taking the little baby into your home. She will give you lots of love and I bet your dog will "adopt" her. Keep us updated as to how she is doing.:lovestruc :cat:

That was so wonderful of you to take care of this little kitty. :cat:

I am so glad kitty is ok. People are just amazing, how could they do such a thing!?

You are a wonderful person for taking care of that kitty. I had cats growing up but am now a dog person. If something like that happened to me, I would keep him too.

I was also wondering how the lil' feller is doing. :)

Hi everyone...just got back from picking up DD from her painting class. Guess what she painted? A picture of a cute little black kitten standing in the grass with a rainbow and a sun. She loves Cutie Pie, and I think he really likes her.

He was very skittish at first, so I think that he may not have had much human contact before. He is starting to get used to us, though. He had his first run-in with my dog Mason. Mason was fine with Cutie Pie as long as Cutie Pie was being held. But when DD set Cutie Pie down, Mason growled at him. Cutie Pie hissed back, then they went their separate ways. Hopefully that is a good sign...there was no physical contact, only verbal fighting. :)

He seems to like his kitten food that we got him. He woke us up at about 4am meowing. I told my DD that kittens and puppies are like babies...they will wake up in the middle of the night wanting something. She groaned when I said that, but secretly she is enjoying every minute of it. She was the first one to get out of bed at 4am to see what he wanted!

Thanks for all the kind words, everyone. I will try to take pics of Cutie Pie this weekend and post the pictures.
