Hurt ankle & wearing a huge boot

I hurt my ankle(torn ligaments & ruptured tendons) I will have to wear a big boot on my lower leg for 6 to 8 weeks. I will have the boot on for my Disney trip. I can put wait and walk short distances with the boot. I am thinking of renting a chair because I know I will not be able to walk far.

I'm worried about Expedition everest. I've heard that the cars may not be that roomy. I wonder if my boot will get in the way. It's actualy an aircast that comes under the knee.

I've been on space mountain and splash mountain. I'm pretty sure that I will skip them this trip. I can't see myself climbing in/out of the cars. The pictures I've seen of EE look like you could walk on the cars. I would try that.

Can anyone comment about loading/unloading of this ride. And how roomy is it?

I would highly recommend renting either a wheelchair or ECV (scooter). You can find more information in the disABILITIES FAQs thread near the top of this board.

There is a ride car pciture gallery on Deb Will's site that shows some pictures of the ride cars from EE. They have a "trial car" that you can get in and out to see how easily you can do it (and whether your boot will fit). The trial car has a side door that opens; the regular cars don't. If you need the car that opens, you will possibly have an extra wait and won't have choice of where you sit. I don't know if there is one of those more accessible cars on each train, or just on certain trains.

I have not been on EE (my DH, nephew and older DD's fiancee went). What they told me and took pictures of shows the ride area is flat and you could pull a wheelchair or ECV close to it for boarding. After you are on, the CM pulls the wheelchair/ECV away.
