"Hurry & fly away to Neverland before it's too late!" Trip wrap up page 30

Hopefully your next sister trip will be less stressful.pixiedust:pixiedust:

I hope so too. We went with Jada and Lauren in 2004. There were a few moments but I think it will be even better this time. The fact that we'll both have our space will help too. There will even be one day that we're in different parks due to her leaving a few days before us.

Vanessa, I've probably said this before but you are going to love the french quarter! :goodvibes
We stayed there on our second trip. Our first had been an All Star. I thought I had died and gone to heaven!
The pool slide is really fun, I hope it's warm enough to swim!
Anita

Anita I'm so excited for this stay. Michelle and her boyfriend go to New Orleans at least once a month since we're so close. She is over the moon about staying there.

There are not 20!! Really? who knew? wow...you learn something new everyday.

We asked the CM in the store when we brought the crown and she said there was between 23 and 25 little trolls. Look around they're everywhere. I want to see your pictures too.

Here's our trip binder. I don't have much in it yet. Michelle did the cover. She loves doing this for our trips!

Love the binder! It reminds me of the years I spent in Beaumont. Good job!

Beaumont! You can't get much closer to Louisiana than that, except maybe Orange, Tx.

I have lots of family in Lake Charles, in fact I think we're headed that way for Thanksgiving Day!

I know Orange well. My aunt actually owns a business there. My grandparents moved from Orange to a retirement community about a year ago so I don't get down there as often now.

Hi you! I have to go back and catch up on updates, but I wanted to say congratulations on your next trip and I love your binder! Great job Michelle!!:thumbsup2

Welcome Back! And thanks for the congrats. We're all excited, well everyone but Danielle and Lauren. I pass your remaks to Michelle, she'll love it.

Where did you go?

I've been trying to find a little more balance in my life, if that makes sense. Must've been the whole turning 40 thing that made me re-evaluate where I was in life and whether I was using my time, talents, money, etc. in a way that reflects my values and priorities. Sooo, what with school activities keeping me running, a 4 year old demanding lots of time and me trying to find said "balance" I haven't been spending much time on the boards. Was that TMI? You asked!:rotfl:

Not TMI at all. That's one of the things I like about the Dis, we can all share and share support. I had a real hard time turning 40 too and on Sunday I get to turn 42:eek:. I do remember what it was like when Danielle was 4 and I still had 2 other kids at home, all busy and all needing something. With the holidays coming I'm sure we'll be doing different things with our time.

So after finishing breakfast we headed back to Future World. Of course we made the normal smoke break stop. We passed beside Test Track so we picked up FPs for later. We then headed to The Seas with Nemo & Friends. We walked right onto our clam shells and headed to Turtle Talk with Crush. The was a small wait so the girls played a little while Tena and I waited in line. We ended up being real close to the front so we got great seats. This was the first time I've been able to sit where I can actually see. Tena and Bailey loved this attraction. Once we exited we played around for a while and spent a good bit of time watching the dolphins. As we were getting ready to exit it was raining pretty hard. We stayed in the gift shop for a while to wait it out. The rain slacked off and we put on our ponchos. At this point Tena wanted to wait some more but I didn't. I told her she could wait it out some more and we could meet up later but I wanted to head towards World Showcase. It was just barely sprinkling when we walked out so we headed back out. As we passed The Land I ran to get FPs for later. After spending so much time a the smoking area by The Land and Imagination she wanted to see what was inside so we made a detour there to ride Journey into the Imagination with Figment. Normally Danielle will not ride this because she hates the skunk smell, but so Bailey wouldn't miss out she did it without much complaint. This ride always makes me jump when you get blasted. The girls played for a little while in the Imageworks labs then we finally headed to Future World. By now Tena was getting comfortable with Epcot since this was her second day there. She had also used a black sharpie to circle all the smoking areas around the Showcase. Danielle and I wanted to finish the passport but I also wanted to catch some movies or attractions. Tena didn't want to see any more shows or movies because they all made her fall asleep. So at this point we decided to split up. I wanted to try and see the movie in Canada. I haven't seen the new movie at all. We headed into the waiting area, waited for a few minutes and headed right back out. Danielle picked up a new mask to collect the charms. We really just enjoyed being together and taking in the sites. Due to the rain the park was really empty and the temps were great. The rain had really cooled the heat.

Some Canada pictures.

Next we toured the Uk. By this time the rain had stopped completely. We went inside one of the stores to find the person to stamp Danielle's passport. While in there he gave me a small bag to store our ponchos in. By this part in the trip we were almost out of ponchos and we needed these to last just in case.

See how empty it was.

Next we went to France. Danielle has gotten her stamp our first day but needed the charm for her mask. I could still kick myself for not getting pictures of the area. I did get some pictures with Belle and Aurora.

In Morocco we got her passport stamped and collected the charm.

More in next post.

So glad you hung around in spite of the rain. Major pay off with an empty World Showcase and I spy some blue sky peeking around those clouds!
Too funny that Tena circled the smoking areas on her map.....
:rotfl2:

More Morocco.

We traveled to Japan next.

When I took Michelle for her first visit in 1999 she did the find a pearl in Japan. Since them I've always wanted to do it too but Dennis wasn't trilled with the idea. So finally I had my chance to do this. I put aside money just so I could do this. So went into Mitsukoshi with plans to pick a pearl. We took a number and waited our turn. This gave Danielle a chance to see the show that is put on for the pear pickin'. Of course at this point she wants to do it to. I didn't put aside enough money for both of us and of course she didn't want to spend her own money. So being the self sacrificing mother that I am I let her pick the pearl and claim it as her own. I have to admit I did enjoy getting to see her do this and sharing this with her like I did with Michelle almost 10 years earlier. We didn't have anything done with the pearl yet, but we plan to get her a chain for Christmas let her pick a setting when we go back.

One more Japan picture!

Next of course was The American Adventure.

I would like to have seen the show but Danielle doesn't go to Disney World to learn. And we were trying to get out at a decent time for our break.

The rest of World Showcase in the next update.

Haha I love this! I agree. If i want to learn, I would have stayed home and watched the history channel!

So cool. How big was the pearl? What type of oyster did you pick? We are going to do the pick a pearl when we go. Lots of people have said to pick the ugliest one for the best pearl. But how do you decide, they are all ugly...

Vanessa - Happy Belated Birthday! My 42 is in March - :scared:

Great update! I'm glad you and your Danielle got to spend some "Mom & Me" time together. Madison is pushing for a girls only trip when she turns 13. I'm game!

We love Japan - our favorite country in Epcot. Madison always does the pick a pearl - year before last she got a gray pearl and last year - TWINS! She was so excited! The CM was great and made a HUGE deal of it! She was :cloud9:

Thanks for the updates!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Melissa

Wow! It was empty!

The BEST morning visit EVER!

The morning turned out to be my favorite!

This was her response on our May 2007 trip when we did The Hall of Presidents. I eventually want to get her to do the American Adventure.

I really want to pick a pearl next visit!

Me too!!!

I think it was 6mm. I've been told to pick the ugliest clam and I had a real narly one picked out but I let Danielle pick out her own. Pick one with lots of crud on it.

Thanks Melissa! We had a great morning. Take Madison on that trip, she'll love it. So how many pearls does she have? I have a feeling Danielle will want to do this again too. Someone got a gray pearl too and they banged the drum. I love the show.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I think Madi has 5 pearls from 4 picks! She has them in a little velvet box - she's not much into jewelry yet - so she wasn't interested in a setting. We have heard the same about picking the ugliest barnacle covered shell to get the best pearls.
