I'm sorry if this has been asked already, but what are the chances of a hurricane at the end of Sept/early Oct? We're supposed to arrive on 9/26, but now I'm afraid of another hurricane ruining our trip. I also know that no one can know for sure, especially this far out, but I'm completely terrified of even thunderstorms, let alone hurricanes. We have trip insurance, so we wouldn't be out financially, but our vacation in May had to be canceled at the last minute, and I'm hoping it doesn't happen again.....

Steph, afraid of storms, tornados, hurricanes, and don't forget wintry weather as well

This year, looks like a very good chance of a hurricane in late September :(

as someone who lives in South Louisiana, I know hurricanes. Although hurricane season runs through Nov, they usually like August and early part of Sept. However if the conditions are right in the ocean....all bets are off. It runs through Nov, and hurricanes do form in Nov sometimes, just not usually.

I am also traveling to WDW in a few weeks. My friend who lives in FL told me that every year, they seem to get the bad storms in august/early sept, then it tapers off and they come back again in October.

But you never know.

Hugo hit Charleston SC on Sept 21, 89. Catagory 3 or 4. It was ugly!

October tends to be pretty iffy for hurricanes in Florida with a good chance of one appearing. Sort of like the chance of a snowstorm in Boston in February.
