Walt Disney World has lifted its advisory for resort guests to continue sheltering indoors following Hurricane Milton. In addition, Disney Springs will remain closed today.

The update for guests to shelter-in-place in their resort hotel was removed from the Weather Updates page on the Walt Disney World website at 9:30 a.m. ET on Thursday, October 10. Probably for the best DS stays closed. Can’t imagine the insanity it would be if they opened with nothing else open.

For people heading into the resorts via I-75 to the Florida Turnpike, the road is closed due to flooding and a washout on the southbound side. Traffic is being rerouted down Hwy 27 until it is repaired. Check FL511.com before driving in the area for the current status.

You can take 27 south to Hwy 192 and enter Disney via World Drive.

Some additional notes, as posted by @sdk1231 in the Grand Floridian thread HERE.

“Updates... so, I'm hearing the following: Building 8 completely flooded (I'm 90% sure that's Boca Chica), Building 5 leaking from the sprinkler heads (that's Sago). Leaking in the main building lobby. RPC rooms w/some flooding due to water coming in the balcony doors... lots of sopping wet towels.

Heard of a tree downed at Port Orleans, taking out a laundry building.”

That seems worse than past storms…

Have they closed down the resort pools for today? Or are they still open? Specifically beach/yacht club.
