Hurricane Milton - WDW Resorts Related Updates & Planning Thread

Thanks again for your on the ground DIS updates. I hope it stops raining so that you are able to enjoy the evening at Trattoria or at Il Mulino.

Dave
Thanks Dave. We are at Boardwalk so we can get to Trattoria without going out. Hope you have some dry options!

Had a mssg in the phone last night that Typhoon Lagoon would be open today for resort guests free of charge. - So they do know how to put mass mssgs out lol, just not for the storm. Nice gesture though.
Was it cell phone or room phone? I wonder how hard it would be to do both. I like the tv message idea too.

Room phone. I also received a mssg through the app sometime today, but the mssg on the room phone was left last night.

Usually you can’t but they were manning a door at the back of the Flying Fish dining room to let people in as they came down the stairs from the Bellevue Lounge.
Ok I’m even more confused … I’ll have to recheck my memory of the layout of Boardwalk before our trip next month …I don’t know how many times we have walked thru the drenching rain to get to abracadabar and then into Trattoria … even the outside covered walkway really didn’t help much

I believe the poster meant this was a special occasion and the door only available this time only. They don’t let us use that way for normal rain.

The interior door was probably being used because of wind conditions, not rain.

People getting wet, really wet, isn't the same as doors being ruined due to winds.

Rains are common in FL. Interior access should have been part of the design

Yes this was a special occasion. I was also told that if they ended up setting up something in the BW convention center there is an underground tunnel for cast members that they would’ve opened for guests. This wasn’t needed.
