Hurricane Matthew Closes WDW - Reopens Saturday, October 8th

Ok, i read the closure thread and didn't see it mentioned, other than a couple stores. What is the status for Disney Springs today, Thursday and tomorrow, Friday? Trying to decide what we plan for

We are a few hours out of Orlando headed to Nashville and I can confirm I-75 hotels are booked up. We can't do this trip in one day and have rerouted through Alabama.

At DS now and it's closing at 5pm...I would bet tomorrow as well with transportation being very limited and hurricane force winds.

HUB states Disney Springs will be closed. A few select stores are closing earlier.

At DHS now. Have tickets for mnsshp Friday. Can the front desk at Beach Club help us get a refund for mnsshp? Or do we have to call? We leave Saturday (we hope) so no make-up party for us...

I think its safe to say everything in Orlando will be closed tomorrow
I think it is a safe bet everything at DS will be closed tomorrow.
Yes, DS is closed tomorrow. In the Hub update that was posted by @rteetz and included in POST 559, DS is listed in the 2nd paragraph along with all other areas that will close at 5:00p today and will not reopen until Saturday.

Thanks for the info. I'm particularly interested in SSR, where my daughter is staying. Of course, there are lots like that - Poly, GF, all the moderates, etc. If anyone has any info about any other particular resorts, I'd love to hear them!

Please remember for any resort that you have to walk out side to get to the restaurants/lobby, it may not be safe to be outside. Personally I would recommend buying snacks etc now to get your through. You don't want to risk your families well being to eat breakfast.

They say it's going to stay a cat 4! We live 26 mi from Daytona beach to the south west, west of us 27mi from New Smyma beach, and 53 mi from Walt Disney world.... the only way things are going to be good is if the eye of the hurricane stays on the water but if the eye moves on land it's going to be real bad! I just saw
Orlando International Airport to shut down at 8 p.m. Thursday
Didn't updates say possibly up to a 5?

In magic kingdom now they have only just announced that they are closing at 5 and closed tomorrow. They left to very late. I've had a lot more info from you guys than from WDW. Weather not that bad at moment slightly windy but only on off drizzle.

If you had a Disney vacation booked for next week...Mon 10th - 16th would you cancel and reschedule?

We plan to arrive on the 12th from Colorado to Orlando airport. So far our flight is still listed. We are just watching the weather reports and reading the info on this message board. I am hoping for the best and praying for everyone. I can't make that cancel decision yet. :sad2:

I totally agree. I'm just trying to figure out whether the food court and stores will be open past 5:00 p.m. for one last supply dash before hunkering down in the room until late Friday or early Saturday.

No information on that, but don't bank on it. If you are able to get supplies now, do it. This is not a situation where you want to leave things to chance at the last minute.
