We are doing OK here in the Bangor area. It's rainy but not raining hard, and blustery. The wind seems to have picked up a bit in the past few hours but it's not terrible enough yet for me to be worried about losing power (famous last words?). The rain's supposed to pick up mid-day but the wind isn't expected to get much worse. I don't know how it is along the coast; we are about 60 miles inland from Bar Harbor, etc. I hope everyone south of us fared well over the past 24 hours and for those of you in the Canadian Maritimes- fingers crossed!

Funny coincidence: My name is Lee and that's the hurricane that's hitting. Three years ago during these same dates, Hurricane Sally slammed NOLA. My sister, Sally, lives in NOLA! I guess the women in my family are just a Force of Nature!!

My daughter is driving to Boston today from the Jersey shore. Another daughter lives there so I’m going to see if I can get information from her.

Stay safe Leebee! I hope your power stays on, that's such a hassle to deal with.

Thinking of you today Leebee! Hope you are doing ok and still have power!

Here in Central, MA we got a couple wind gusts and that was it. Praying for Maine and Nova Scotia and hoping it turns out to be a bad rain storm with little to no damage for people.❤️

One of my friends in Maine lost power about 5 hours ago. He hasn't checked in in a while. I'm not too concerned at this point because he said he and his husband had forgotten to charge their phones and might go silent.

I'm in Mass, but not especially close to the coast, so we didn't have any trouble here - some wind and a little rain, a bunch of leaves in the pool. I was really glad it was less than I expected!

Plymouth MA near the coast - lots of wind, especially overnight, and a little rain. Nothing particularly impressive, power didn't even flicker. Wind finally dropped to "non-audible" levels an hour or two ago. Actually, it was quite cool & pleasant out today so I got a lot of yard work done.

Some friends are going on a cruise of New England and up into Canada later this month. Any idea if the trees will have decent fall foliage or will the leaves be gone with the wind?

We are one town away from the ocean in northern MA. Got some rain, not much wind, so we drove up to the family cottage in VT. Got more wind on the way home, in western NH than we experienced at home! One gap in the trees on the highway had such a wind coming down the mountain that it blew my CRV into a new lane!

We discovered a leak in the ceiling on the 2nd floor around 9pm yesterday. Investigated in the attic and found where the drip originated, so we pulled back some insulation and put out towels and pots on both floors. There's about 1/2 inch of water in the pots on the 2nd floor. Gonna have to get brave and go outside to see what the shingles on the roof look like. I'm hoping that rain just blew in under them, dripped and soaked some attic insulation, and that's what was dripping onto the 2nd floor. It's supposed to be warm (upper 70s) today and breezy, so hopefully we can get things dried out and figure out what is going on.

Other than that... Yard looks OK, leaves are on the trees. We lost power for less than an hour yesterday, and I see FB posts of trees down in the area but not too many. All in all, we fared OK. Haven't heard from friends down on the coast yet. I'm not too worried- this storm wasn't bad at all, not compared to what we get in the winter sometimes. My guess is power outages are why we haven't heard from anyone- that and it's Sunday morning and everyone's sleeping in!

Good morning, leebee. Good to hear from you and all is fairly well, other than that darn leak. Hope that goes well. Be careful with that roof stuff.

We're calling someone, @Dan Murphy . I'm 67 with a 3-month old replaced knee, and DH is 63 and having rotator cuff surgery in <3 weeks. We also have a friend who fell off his first story roof (why a 73 year old was on the roof is BEYOND me) and pretty much destroyed himself (broken ribs, punctured lung, shattered femur). We are trying to fix our bodies this year; nobody here's got time for THAT nonsense!
