Hurricane Katia

Oh boy...

Back to worrying.

Never again in Hurricane season. Not worth it

I agree. I told my wife if we cruise again it will be in Febuary when it's snowy and cold here. Of course this is the first time we cruise and the last 2-3 years have been pretty good as far as hurricanes go. Just our luck...

Just have to hope this thing blows up north. Too early to tell right now, in any event it's coming, only question is, to where?

I was trying to find an image of Irene's early days to compare it with Katia. It looks like Irene formed much closer to the islands than Katia has.

All of the models have it blowing North well before it hits the Bahamas. Hopefully things stay that way...

I am not wasting my energy worrying about this thing until its a few days out. Being born and raised in Florida, I have delt with hurricanes my whole life and I know from experience that they have the ability to change course or die down at the very last moments.

the 11am advisory now has it as a cat 2 by Friday. The models look like it will stay North, too early to tell though.

atleast today module looks like it will be heading north up the atlantic but doesn't look good for Bermuda.......

Never again in Hurricane season. Not worth it

Our cruise isn't until October 13th. I'm sure there will be at least a few more hurricanes between now and then.

My position on everything in life has always been que sera sera... whatever will be, will be.

We initially booked ourselves and all 4 of my kids for this cruise - our first ever full family cruise! - and then MLG Orlando was scheduled for the same weekend, stealing my 20yo DS away. :sad2:

The rest of us have gotten our passports, reserved a cabana, we're making our FE's and planning our exchange gifts, and our excitement is building. :dance3:

My 22yo DD will be flying in the Tuesday before the cruise and my only concern should there be a hurricane in the area is that she get here safely.

If a hurricane affects our cruise, so be it. We'll enjoy being together wherever we are, whatever we're doing. :grouphug:
