Hurricane Jeanne Aftermath Update

Greetings Friends,

Tomorrow (Tuesday, Sep. 18th), I'll be heading into the parks armed with a video camera to assess some of the damage from Jeanne.

I was on the West Coast (St. Pete) on Sunday, and got lashed pretty well by the large storm.

I'll send a report as soon as I can, and follow up with a video log once I can...

I hope anyone in the Orlando area during the storm is safe and with power! (there are millions without power across the state)

We fared well. I wish I could say the same for others.
Those who had damage before really suffered this time around.
I imagine everyone in this area has been affected in some manner these last six weeks.

Well, we survived the hurricane. The power went out about 5:30 Sunday morning and has been out ever since. They say it will probably be a couple more days to get it back on. That's because trees knocked down the power lines all over the neighborhood in at least 3 places just on our street. If you're wondering how I'm posting this, I'm on my aunt's computer.

Our whole neighborhood looks like a war zone. There are huge oak trees completely uprooted that are blocking roads, and there are downed power lines lying across people's yards. Only about half of the stop lights are actually working.

I'm glad we're okay but our house is a cave. Everything's damp from the humidity so it's like sitting on a sponge. We had to get out today so my mom and I went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast and then we rode around town looking at all the damage.
