Reporting live from Mississippi. We just got power back tonight. We have been without it since late wednesday night. We had torrential down pours, tornado's and steady 60 mph winds with gusts to 80! It was pretty scary. Stuff flying through the air, trees breaking off. Thursday morning was the worst. We are very forturnate we had no damage to our house. Thursday evening we went out to drive around and the damage was horrible. Peoples houses split in half. Huge trees up rooted and big power lines snapped in half. We went today to take some pictures. Today we through out just about everything in freezer and fridge. Luckily we are all safe and sound though. Clean up will take a while but we are fine. If anyone is intrested in seeing some pictures, I will post them on here or somewere you can see them. Hope everyone else is safe.
God Bless,

Welcome back. We made it through with some minor damage. Very scary stuff.

Thought I would post these. These are some pretty good photos I took. By the time I went today to take pics a lot was cleaned up already.

Good luck to you. Isn't it wonderful when you first realize you really do have air-conditioning?

I can't believe you got power back so soon. We were without power for 12 days after Charley.

This area still looks like a bomb hit it. There is still debis around and we're in a sea of blue-tarped roofs.

A little advice: the old cliche " take it one day at a time" is the way to go. Slowly life will get back to normal.

Again, good luck.

Here are the pictures now. FYI: These dont do the damage any justice. Half of the damage I was unable to get pictures off. Amazingly a lot of the major powerline damage has been cleaned off the roads. I took 90 pictures so this is only a sampiling.
