My dad and stepmother live in Foley, Alabama which is 10 miles from Gulf Shores. My stepmother's DD lives directly on the gulf in Gulf Shores and her DS lives in Orange Beach. I talked with them last night and said they were fastening things down. I worry about them! HUGS to all our Gulf Coast DISers!
I have a lot of family that lives in New Orleans. I haven't called them to see if they're evacuating or not. We have a family-owned nursery there (plants, not babies), so hurricanes are always a huge hastle even if the winds aren't damaging. All that water isn't good for the plants.
We are getting some rain now. The wind isn't too bad yet. Just coming in gusts. We have done everything we can to prepare for the storm. We are only about two miles in from Lake Pontchartrain so only time and tomorrow will tell if we take on water.
Best of luck to all the other DIS'ers out there in the way of Isidore and Lili.
My DS lives in Kinder, LA... says she's getting a lot of rain, but they're prepared to ride it out. I'm crossing fingers, toes, eyes, and legs for her and all the Gulf Coast DISers.

Hopefully it won't be as bad before it gets on Land. Looks like a lot of Beach Erosion. My DH's DD lives in Mobile Alabama! She survived Hurricane Andrew, I am sure she will be fine.
We've gotten rain all day and should get more later...not much going on right now. We're on the "good" side of the storm. No class or work tomorrow, though!
for all the good wishes. Thankfully we came out OK. Lots of rain, but no damage. Not every one was so lucky. One area in Slidell took flood water into their homes. There may be more, but I'm not sure. Our home flooded in 1995, so I know their pain!!
Best wishes to any impacted by this storm or LILI that is forming up down South.
