So far so good for me. It seems like over half of my town is out of electric but so far we still have it here. Those out of electric were told it could be anywhere from 12 hrs to 2-3 days until everyone is restored. We have friends bringing food to our upright freezer and spare fridge later today if need be. There are alot of power lines/trees down here. The winds really were a kickin last night --- I don't ever remember anything like this before.

Jody, great idea on starting this thread, I hope that all is well with everyone.

NJ is fine - the governor declared a state of emergency last night, so I was able to leave work at 6 instead of 8.

My Mom lost power during the night down in Ocean County, but Hudson County was fine.

I hope everyone is all right, too.

South of Philly fared okay. We didn't lose power that I'm aware of and there was no flooding in my neighborhood. Plenty of debris around though from that wind.

I sure hope that everyone is OK. I have been following this on the BBC news and all I can say is it all looks pretty scarey.

We're in Harrisburg, PA right now, at my son's house. We left the VA tidewater area on Wednesday. Our house is surrounded by very tall trees and has water in the back. Our town sits on the southern end of Chesapeake Bay and is barely above sea level.

We were able to keep in touch with friends, by cell phone, yesterday, but can't get in touch with them today. I know there is no power and it flooded pretty bad.

We go back home tomorrow, hopefully to an intact house. Prayers and pixie dust, if you can spare some.

Here in South Jersey we made out pretty well. There are tree branches everywhere ( which was a problem while trying to run w/ my jogging stroller this morning) and it's still very windy. I hope everyone else made out ok.

We are in South Jersey next to the DE River. We had high winds and downed trees. There was some flooding by the river, but nothing really bad. My DH works in DE and his company closed thursday & friday due to the governor declaring a state of emergency. Parts of Northern DE had some pretty bad flooding prior to Isabele so I am wondering how badly it flooded last night.
Other than that it is a nice breezy day here! Thank goodness!:D
Hope everyone else is well too!

We fared out ok here. The kids have school off today (and the teachers called a strike for Monday- lovely timing). Thank goodness we didn't get as much rain as we could have. Streets had tons of branches and leaves all over them, and on my way to work I saw several roads that were closed due to trees in the road or a pole in the road.

Many of the people that I work with lost power. My boss still doesn't have power at home.

With as saturated as the grounds were, I am thankful that we didn't get that much rain.

Melanie

I hope everyone in the path of the storm is alright. Because of the power outages it may be a while before they can check in.

Here in southcentral PA, we got lots of wind and rain. I couldn't believe the sounds of the wind overnight - I've never heard anything like it!

My power stayed on but my cable went out so we were without TV (no great loss!) and Internet (AAGGGHH!!) until an hour ago. A few blocks away there are still people without power, so I'm not complaining.

I hope all is well with everyone else. Hannosmom, I'm sending prayers up for your home in VA. I think you made a wise choice in heading north to Harrisburg!

We just got some wind and rain up here in upstate NY. DD is in Newport News, VA. She was lucky-didn't lose power. The hospital where she is working was on generator until this afternoon. They are having problems with the water supply and are boiling their water. I'm flying down tomorrow to visit. We were planning on a visit to Busch Gardens but it will be closed until next weekend.

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who was in the path of the storm. I just moved from Hampton Roads, VA last Oct and still have many friends there. Anyone in that area know whats going on there? I haven't been able to get in touch with anyone.

Jennifer
