Hurricane Irma?

Thanks. But if I have to ride out a hurricane at Animal Kingdom Lodge, there's much worse things in life.

Sorry your flight out got cancelled and you are stuck at WDW. We did feel very safe at WDW during Matthew (safer than we do at home when tornados get close). Reports from AKL last year were that there were games in the lobby, Safari Mickey, Safari Minnie, Safari Donald and Rafiki came out at various times, and I think the Boma buffet stayed open. At least you can enjoy short lines in the parks today and for a while tomorrow. Hopefully, it will pass through quickly and there will be minimal damage.

A little OT, but I hope you get to enjoy Pop next week. We stayed there 3 years in a row, and I loved it. I have some super happy memories of those trips. :)

Thank you! It's our first on property stay and we have friends going with us! We've been keeping this as a surprise from our kids for over a year! Not telling them until we are in Florida or on property (they are 8 and 6 years old) I'm getting so excited to see their reaction!!

help us obi Wan @FastPasser. you're our only hope...what's the HUB saying on closures?

Staggered closings allow us to help Guests depart in a more organized way that keeps their safety top of mind. It also takes into account the various logistical needs of Guests staying at our resorts, including dining, transportation and more.

Keep in mind if your trip is booked for next week that many folks may still be trying to get home, and Disney may move you or not have room for you.

We are staying at pop century, where do we go if it hits? Can we stay in our rooms or do we need to go to the main building?

You will stay in your room. Listen for voicemails left on your room phone

??? so you could show up next week and not have a room available (but booked) and have to go elsewhere? I would think that this wouldn't happen unless they have a much worse booking system than it seems they do. Possible I guess though.
