Hurricane Irma?

We arrive at the Poly on Sunday and the plan is Hollywood Studios Monday and then we have tickets for Extra Magic Morning in Magic Kingdom on Tuesday.

Would those tickets be refunded if the park is closed? What are the chances of the park BEING closed on Tuesday if this thing hits Sunday?

Ugh. This is making me think about cancelling the whole trip... It's a LOT of money to lose out on two park days and our favorite ADRs at Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace AND Ohana breakfast...

Very highly unlikely park would be closed on Tuesday if rain came Sunday.

Still way too early. Still more than likely the parks won't close

It's funny how just a day or 2 ago, the GFS models were showing the storm being to the east and the Euro models were more toward Florida. Now the GFS models are more toward Florida and several Euro models are to the east. I'm still just hoping for the best. There's still a chance it could go out to sea. HOPEFULLY it does. If not, hopefully land impact isn't that bad. One thing is certain at this point and that is, no one has any solid idea.

Still way too early for anything. However people are already stocking up heavily on water in my area. Stores can't keep it coming out the backroom quick enough.

No need to worry about it yet but for those traveling to Orlando and worrying about water.. If you're planning on ordering water to your room, idk how early out you can but I would order it as early as I could so your online order isn't cancelled

How close are you to Orlando? My Garden Grocer delivery is scheduled for tomorrow morning. I wonder if that is too late.

Me...waiting for Irma to make up her mind.....

I'm in the Fort Myers area. So about 2.5 hours south west of Orlando

I just chatted with them online. They said they ordered extra water for the week for orders. You could try to contact them as they seem to be available at the moment to chat.

Great. Thanks. I will do that right now.

It also helps to have others to talk about this with who understand the position. We all know it is speculation at this point but having a back up plan is handy and makes it more bearable.

This is the way I have been thinking. If a warning is issued I want to have a back up plan, however it seems most of the dates I am looking at are booked solid November-Dec and some in October too? Hard to come up with a back up plan!

So, I apologize if this has already been answered. Also, I know this is all speculation and conjecture, so I'll take all replies with a grain of salt. But, I guess what I want to know is IF this storm hits FL, as some modules currently suggest, what days would flights potentially be canceled? As of now, we have plans to fly out of Atlanta on 9/9. Are most cancelations expected to be around the 10th and 11th (assuming they happen at all)? Thanks in advance, and I also realize this is all speculation, and we won't have any definitive answers until later this week.

I'm just thinking positive. We'll look at contingency plans on Wednesday if necessary.

I'm trying to scope our back up plan, too. Hubs just wants to go down regardless. I'd rather go down during a time where 3 of our 6 days aren't affected by a hurricane.... so we're exploring options.

Awesome. I got pretty much the same response. I wasn't sure if they stock any items or if they buy them at the grocery stores the day of delivery. They said they get their water from a vendor and it's in stock.

That was my question as well. We arrive Saturday. I figured it would be a nightmare for them to shop on that same day, but she said they start several days in advance. I'm relieved because we are going despite Irma!

I just added bottled water, bread and peanut butter to my Garden Grocer order. Delivery is next Saturday morning.

I pulled the trigger and moved my trip by a few days. We were scheduled to fly in on Monday the 11th. I know that the track of the hurricane is far from decided, but I have a lot of flexibility in terms of vacation time so it seemed like the safest bet for me. We'll be in WDW from Sept 14th - 23rd now. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for all of you that have trips coming up sooner.
