Hurricane Dorian / WDW Theme Parks Discussion

Scheduled to arrive on Saturday and depart Tuesday. Just got calls that the fireworks cruise we had scheduled for Sunday night and horseback riding Monday morning were both cancelled. Strongly considering cancelling the entire trip now :(

Interesting they are proactively cancelling some of those 'fringe' activities like that at this point. Thanks for sharing.

We're flying in on Tuesday at 6pm
I can only change my flight to Monday, do you think I should do this? I know this storm has slowed down so maybe Monday could still be an option?
We're coming from Australia and I can't change my International flight only my domestic one which means I have to choose between Monday and Tuesday.
I'd rather be stuck in a room at Universal than stuck at LAX

No definitely not! Later is better in this case.

We too have tickets for Monday night's MNSSHP. If anyone has any luck getting a refund on the tickets because of Dorian, it would be great if you could post your experience here. :(
I changed it to this Friday they will offer refund or change dates

We live three hours from the gulf coast and with a hurricane of this magnitude even inland you can expect downed trees, power outages and tornadoes. If you choose to go take plenty of cash because with electricity out gas pumps and credit card machines don’t work.

The good thing about that run of the European model is that a lot of the ensemble members show Dorian staying out to sea, and the ensemble mean is actually just offshore. While there would still be impacts to Florida if that were to verify, it would definitely be good news for WDW. Hopefully the models will come into better agreement over the next day or so.

I have tickets to MNSS on Monday who should I call to try and move them to another date?

We rode out Irma in Port Orleans French Quarter and Contemporary. The two days before the parks closed were some of our best ever times with the parks absolutely empty as many people canceled their trips and Floridians were busy prepping. Then the parks closed for 2 days and Disney took good care of us. The resorts will be very full as many people in Florida choose to ride out storms in Disney hotels since they are built like bunkers. We ran into many Buccaneers players in Contemporary who moved their families into the hotels. Afterwards the parks were packed as school was cancelled. We are here now on a 12 day trip and plan on staying based on that experience.

Anybody have regular tickets refunded or expiration dates changed? We have tickets to MNSSHP on Monday that I'm pretty sure they'll just refund but we also bought a 1 day ticket for Wednesday the 4th for DHS. Will they refund the ticket or change the expiration date? I really don't like this new ticket policy. You have to buy it early to make the FPs but then you could be SOL if you need to change plans.

Here now at Poly until Sunday then will be checking into WL and currently supposed to leaving on Tuesday. We had a flight home scheduled for Tuesday at 5:30 pm and then I went and changed it to leave on Wednesday at 5:30 after I kept hearing storm was expected late Sunday into Mon. and I figured a day to clean up with parks possibly closed as well as airport....thought I was being smart to change flight from Tues to Wed. now thinking maybe not so smart...maybe I should change flight home back to Tuesday...What Would You Do???

I just called Disney (only a 3 minute wait on phone) to see about changing our Ultimate Thrills VIP tour date from Monday 9/2/19 to Saturday 8/31/19, and was able to get that changed. Appears there will still be rain but better safe than sorry to move it up, especially with how expensive those VIP tours are.

It's still too early to predict your flight home. Stick to what you have now and make your decision sunday night/monday morning when we have a better idea of everything

My flight is supposed to land Tuesday morning. Should I try changing it and push my reservation back a day or 2?

If flights are already going to be cancelled on Tuesday I dont want to miss out and shorten my trip.

What happens to my disney hotel reservation if my flight is cancelled/push back a day or 2?

Since we are room only, we have until 5 days before check in to cancel with no penalty (which for us would be Saturday). We have a F&W Seminar booked for Friday the 6th and my AP expires on Sept 10th, so I really wouldn't even be able to reschedule. :( We're celebrating my birthday and our 23rd Anniversary (both tomorrow) and I'm going to be so disappointed if we have to cancel.

I'm glad they were able to accommodate you. That must be a bit of a relief. :)
