Tropical Storm Beryl now in the Atlantic Ocean....expected to become more disorganized and break apart over the weekend...hopefully!

Of course, we were on the canceled Fantasy cruise last year because of Hurricane Irma...we rebooked on the Fantasy for the 3 night cruise leaving next Wednesday July 11. Once bitten, twice shy about these darn storms. Of course, this one is nothing like Irma!! Still watching closely though...

We were at WDW for Irma. Then we were on the May 26th Fantasy cruise which had the ports reordered due to Alberto. I still won't hesitate to travel during hurrricane season.

My boss asked me last week if I had any vacations planned for September. I told him I didn't and asked why he wanted to know. He said because he and his wife were planning their annual trip to Florida and wanted to avoid any time I was traveling so they wouldn't run into hurricanes.

:thumbsup2 Me neither! I would say at least 65% of our cruises have been in hurricane season. Got one coming up in early Sept. on the Fantasy! :cool1:

Now it is Hurricane Beryl and a few tracks have it coming right over Nassau and Castaway Cay on of course what is Day 1 of our cruise. I can not believe my luck! Hopefully it will still change course.

Everyone please check the local FL news. I live here near Clearwater and they are stating that once this thing hits the lower antilles, it's going to hit lots of wind sheer and fall apart. So you MIGHT get some gusty winds or higher than normal breezes but this thing is not going to be a threat to the Bahamas at this time.
In fact, I'm leaving on Wednesday for a 3 day and Nassau weather (as of this morning)is stating that only Thursday will be slightly more windy than normal with possible winds of up to 15 mph. This is still pretty calm for seas.
We sailed last year in the Bahamas as Maria blew by. We had winds of over 35 mph. That was a rockin' ship. We all should be fine.
Now if you are going further south, south-east next week, well that could present some rough seas.

Now it is Hurricane Beryl...and looking less optimistic for our 3 night Fantasy cruise on 7/11....I am seriously jinxed with the Fantasy - canceled last year with Irma and now Beryl...maybe I am jinxed with elderly female-named things :0

@xiphoid76 I hear you!! We had an Irma cancellation last year and we rescheduled for next week and I'm like, Lord help me if some freaky storm comes along in the Mediterranean! I just want to go on my cruise!! Gah!

Wishing you good luck. We cruised right after a hurricane in 2014, late August.

Very rough seas and we missed CC
