Do you ever have a day where you're hungry all the time! That's me today. I've been trying to forget about it by drinking water but that's not working. I'm stuck at work too, so I can't get something to snack on (only thing here is vending machine). The only thing I can find around here is marshmellows. Are they ok for a snack?

Hi, Lauren, hope your day got better. Sorry I wasn't around to answer your marshmallow question. How did you handle that? I don't know if it helps you, but I have really found that hot tea helps curb my hunger and if I take the time to drink it I usually come to my senses about a snack by the time I am done with the tea.

I combat this by keeping low cal snacks in my purse & desk at all times. I like the Special K 90 calorie snacks & low-fat granola bars. The 100 calorie snacks they make now are good too. Just always have them "on you."

Do you have a refrigerator at work that you can use? Ever since I started this new eating program, I bring in a ton of food, and pretty much schedule when I'm gonna eat it (as much as I possibly can). I know it would be a lot tougher if I didn't have access to the fridge. I'd be packing a mighty big cooler otherwise!!

Good luck. And to answer your question....I STILL have days where I'm hungry no matter what. A few weeks ago, I'd go to bed around 9pm, because my stomach was growling (and I'm used to staying up til at least 11). I guess I've just learned to ignore it. I know for me, I won't keel over or die from starvation...my body has plenty to feed off of for a while ;) . haha

I read a magazine article this week about a dietitian's weight loss advice. One of the points she makes is "Watch Out for Super Hungry Days". She says to pay special attention when your appetite changes. Often, when dieting, the scale won't show any weight loss for several days, and during that time, regular meals seem to satisfy your hunger. Suddenly, one day you are ravenous (and possibly feeling discouraged because the scale hasn't budged in a few days), so you might feel tempted to overeat. Pay special attention to those super hungry days because these are the "payoff" days (the days that your body is working hard to release the extra weight). So, just eat normal regular meals that day, don't give in to your ravenous appetite, and you should see a drop in weight the next time you go on the scale. It worked for me this week!
