Hungry Are The Damned! 10/15/07-10/25/07 - COMPLETED W/LOTS OF PICS!!!

Hey everybody! I just updated the blog with a review of our lunch at the Burger Bar. Come visit us when you have time - the link's in my siggie.

Have a great weekend! :goodvibes

I wonder how the new location of the Burger Bar at Lumiere Place compares to the Vegas one?!? I think you'll need to try it and let all of us St. Louisans know! The menu is the same, but I'd wonder if it's executed as well here.

Hello there LizinSTL! I almost want to say "hi neighbor!" but given the size of our metropolitan area that would be misleading to people on the DIS who have never been here. ;)

Anyhoo, thanks for stopping by to post. It's funny that you mentioned the BB downtown ... Jay and I have talked about giving it a try some day when the cost of gas to get us 90+ miles roundtrip for a burger won't require a piggybank shakedown. :rotfl2:

I, too, wonder about the execution but I can't believe that Hubert Keller would put his name on something and then hire a staff that can't cut the beef, ya know what I mean?

If you get there before us please come back and tell everyone how it was!

I have Lumiere Place on my "to-do" list but haven't made it yet. My husband would love the menu at the Burger Bar.
We're not close at all! I'm 20-25 minutes south of downtown- I'm sure I've every bit of 45 minutes from you! :)

Hiya! A special guest review has been posted in the blog ... pictures included... of a drink-around-the-world attempt. Come check it out when you have time - it's a blast!! :thumbsup2

If I had to guess, I'd say you live pretty darn close to where my parents live. South County, perhaps? I will not get any more specific than that here. :goodvibes

Seriously, if you do get to Burger Bar let us know what you think - I'd be interested to know how it's doing.

Ding ding ding! You are correct, ma'am. ;)

Great reviews. Enjoyed them.

Thanks for taking the time to read them - I know I have chronic "don't-know-when-to-shut-up-itis" when it comes to writing these things. ;)

Hopefully they've been of some use!

As a general aside ... I've discovered that Irish Cream on the rocks with a peanut butter sandwich and a Dasani chaser is not at all a bad solitary dinner for one. :thumbsup2

Loved your guest reporter on the blog. Got some really useful information.
My "problem" is I'm usually there during F&W so I'm mainly drinking from the kiosks, a full size drink on top of the wine & beer would do me in. I also do one trip a year with a girlfriend who is a non drinker, she wouldn't care what I do but drinking around the world with a non drinker just wouldn't be the same.

I've been reading your 2006 TR is that O'Mara Irish cream you're drinking with your peanut butter sandwich now? It's Soooooo good isn't it? It's much lighter than Bailey's b/c it's wine based instead of whisky based. Or is that whiskey if it's not from Scotland?

Isn't that guest spot great? I'm hoping to do more of that for people if they want to take advantage of it ... all you gotta do is ask!

Jay and I have been inspired by Mr. Scorpios's antics and are now hopeful that we can try to do the drink-a-thon in October ... that could be a verrrrry interesting day. :rotfl2:

Yes! I was drinking O'Mara's Irish Cream last night ... much more smooth and enjoyable than Baileys. And while I wouldn't always suggest washing down a peanut butter sandwich with the O'Mara's it wasn't unacceptable. :lmao:

BTW, I have to apologize in advance for not finishing the 2006 TR ... there's a day and a half left, but since so much of that ends up being meals I just let it go. It got to be too much work ... working and then coming home and working some more ... but now that I think about it nothing's really changed.

Here's a quick summary of how that trip finished up: went to CA Grill for dinner Thursday night - great food and great view and good god but now is not the time to be having post-surgical pain so I'll just take some darvocet and wash it down with a French martini. I don't remember anything else until Friday morning. :rotfl:

Friday we had breakfast at the Yacht Club Galley, ditched my parents for the Magic Kingdom, had a second breakfast there and then had afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian. That night we watched our beloved Cardinals win the World Series while packing and eating fresh cookies from room service. We flew home the following morning and vowed never to vacation anywhere with my parents again.

The end.

:lmao:

Brenda,

I hope Plankton isn't feeling like a second fiddle to your guest blogger!
Too funny girl.:rotfl2:

Sad, sad news. Payards called a few days ago and told me my reservation is void for the dessert night. They now only serve breakfast and lunch!:sad2:
I'm so bummed.

What a shame. I'm really sorry to hear that.

Well, you guys are just going to have to go to that chocolate place over at the Bellagio instead - the name of which completely escapes me. :goodvibes

I can't remember if I told anyone around here or not, but my oldest nephew (my deceased brother's oldest son) got married last Saturday. We finally managed to upload the pictures so I thought I'd share a few of them with my DIS-buddies. Thanks for letting me share!!

One thing's fer sure ... this girl's gotta get back on her diet!

Hey Brenda!

Thank you for posting. You and Jay look great and another fantastic self-photo!

:)

:worried: No. I saw it in the gift shop at the POP, but I didn't do it. My arms are too hideous to subject the public to.

Thought of you, though.

Well, you keep thinking about it and once October gets here you let me know if you still want it. I'll be at WDW then and I'll be more than happy to get you one. Don't be so hard on yourself! :goodvibes

Thanks! I wish my camera had been behaving better - we were really having issues with the flash and we had to delete a bunch because they were too blurry. I can't wait to see the professional ones!

Well ...cameras are temperamental beasts BUT our best pictures came from friends and family. Then when you get married by Elvis in Vegas, like we did, what are your choices?

and your arms look= great!
