hundreds and thousands?

I know this isn't disney related, but need to ask a Brit. I was looking for a recipe for sugar mice to make for Christmas. The recipe says use hundreds and thousands for the eyes and nose. Are these the same as cookie sprinkles? That would make sense because DS always get hundreds and thousands of sprinkles all over the kitchen! Thanks for any replies.

Hundreds and Thousands, Sprinkles, Nonpareils, Jimmies. - Small round balls of brightly colored sugar used as decorations on cakes, cookies, trifles and other desserts.
