Hi folks!

I work for a library in Dayton, Ohio and a lady is wanting some information on the animated character "Humphrey the Bear."

She wants, if possible, some lithograph pictures or videos that she can give to someone as a Christmas gift this year. I've done some Internet searching, but have come up empty handed. Are there in fact videos or pictures that I can find for her? Any help in this would be most appreciated!

Feel free to respond here or email me at Abd4253@aol.com.

Thanks a bunch!

Humphrey appeared with Donald Duck and/or Ranger J. Audubon Woodlore in 7 animated shorts in the 1950's. The titles are:

Hold that Pose
Rugged Bear
Grin and Bear It.
Bearly Asleep
Beezy Bear
Hooked Bear
In the Bag

I do not think there are any videos currently in print with a Humphrey short on them. You may need to pick up one from an auction site. He is the mascot of the Wilderness Lodge Resort in WDW. They have a few items including a totem pole with him and the fab 3. There are a couple of pins and I think, don't quote me, a picture frame.

Hope this helps.

I have a video of Humphery somewhere in this black hole called my house.

Amy/Peoplemover made it for me and put it on my doorstep.

Humphery appears on the Disney Channel from time to time.

All I have to think about is:

"picken up the trash and put it in the bag, bump.....bump!

Makes me chuckle every time!

My daughter is a Humphrey (& Woodlore) fanatic too!

The Humphrey shorts are shown regularly on the Disney Channel's Ink & Paint Club during Vault Disney. The web site Laughing Place.com used to be very reliable about listing Vault Disney as part of their Disney on tv section of their home page, but lately they aren't always detaling like they used to.

I taped the episodes for my daughter & she loves to watch them! Sorry, I don't have any tape to tape capabilities to make you a copy.

Susan,
That is the exact same thought I have when I think of Humphrey!!!

Bump...Bump...

Jason,

If you are searching the auction sites for a video, look for...

The Wonderful World of Disney, "The Ranger of Brownstone / It's Tough to be a Bird"; the number is 380V, and it was sold during the late eighties, early nineties. Of course it was released by Walt Disney Home Video. It's kind of uncommon but you never know what you'll find on the auction sites...

Susan - great minds think alike. I can still hear the little song in my head. My DS actually used to do the Humphrey dance when he was little. Now I gotta pull that home movie out and watch. It's much cuter watching his 4 yo posterior do "bump bump" than his 17 yo one!!
