Anyone ever get muscle twitches - in one place (my upper arm) for really no reason?

I know Ive been supppppppper STRESSED lately... I can say that.

But I also want to add to my list of ailments, my arms have been kinda weak the last few months. Just tired. Now I used to bartend and waitress - and now Im a desk worker... could they just be out of shape?

Alright... tell me. :guilty:

Yes and I had myself convinced it was ALS and was depressed and ready to die  I could kick myself for acting like that. But, if you look up muscle twitches, that is the worst case scenario.

You probably are having benign fasciculations. Look it up..Not health threatening. Just very, very annoying.

Good luck!! :Pinkbounc

Yes - Im also convinced I have ALS and will end up paralyzed soon, and shortly after that - dead...

I hate having parnoia's!!!

Oh yes--And the more you read, the worse it gets. You notice every little twitch and it drives you nuts. Literally. I feel I know more about ALS than any other human on the planet, b/c I would read about it for hours and hours.

What a dreadful disease. My heart goes out to ANYONE that has to deal with this monster.

But, CathrynRose, DON'T do what I did. I actually went as far as having EMGs done. STOP reading about ALS and START reading about Benign Fasciculations.

You'll be happy that you did :thumbsup2

Thank you - thank you! Ive already read a smidge of Benign Fasciculations, and I am already relating to it.

Cool (well, not really Cool, but...) thank you so much! :wizard:

I used to drink a lot of Diet Coke and had muscle twitches. Then I read that some people get them from aspartame. :confused3 I backed off from the eeeevil soda and they went away. Unless, of course, I'm stressed, then they come back, along with a stutter. What a pretty sight I must be then, huh? :lmao:

I sometimes get twitches in my eyelid. Now, that freaked me out because I was convinced of a tumor or blindness.

Both DH and I get them! I get it about once a week, especially if the muscle has been overworked.

I get the stutterish sort of thing too...not really a stutter, more of an "ummm, errr, duhhh, errr - BLAH" thing - that I have to start all over. Is that a stutter? I prolly have a stutter and wasnt even recognizing it!!! ;)

This happened to me a couple of months ago. I too started thinking the worst, but then it went away. My friend's dad has a very severe case of Multiple Sclerosis, so everytime I have numbness or lose my balance that is the first place I go.

Yeah, that's sort of what I have. It's more of a th... buh... I... damnit, forget I started saying anything! It's the exotic "mom" language.

The same thing happened to me about 1 1/2 years ago. I was convinced it was ALS (I knew someone young who had just died of it). I still have the twitches and muscle weakness from time to time and it's usually when I'm sleep deprived and/or anxious.

ETA: I also noticed that the more I thought about it and worried about it, the worse my symptoms got.

When I'm really stressed I get those eyelid twitches or the twitches in my thumb. Once I started getting them in my thumb I was convinced that I had early on-set Parkinsons. My GF had parkinsons so I must have it, right..... :confused3
