Where are the "human" statues located in EPCOT? We have heard about them, but have never seen them. :confused3

they're not. they haven't been for several years now.

It's a shame, too...it was one of our favorite things when my kids were little. I have a great picture of my now-17-year-old daughter when she was about 8, posing with one of the statues pulling her ponytail!

Yes ... they are long gone as bradk says. They show up in some tv specials even ones done recently but just old footage! They did look so interesting and DIS members who saw them (in the past) spoke of some funny experiences with them!

We have quite a few pictures of them from our trips -- they were the kind of "extra" thing that you could expect at Disney. I really missed them when they were discontinued. The costumes were great and we enjoyed them more than some of the street performers at Epcot now.
One time I did a search on the internet and found a lot of pictures that people had of the different ones, but I don't know now where to tell you to look.

We loved the Living Statues another thing from the past we miss.

I found the picture...this is from 2000, when my daughter was 8. Sorry it's a little fuzzy, but it is a scan of a snapshot from those days of yesteryear before we had digital! One of my daughter's favorite memories..

I absolutely miss the Living Statues. I stumbled on them on my 2001 trip, then again in 2004, which I think was their last year. They used to "perform" outside the Italy Pavilion.

They were just amazing. It was more than just a person in a statue costume - you would swear they were statues - until they moved, and startled you. They interacted spontaneously with the crowd, usually one at a time as someone went up to them. Nothing about it ever seemed rehearsed, and honestly, it couldn't be. I really wish they were brought back . . .
