Human remains found last week in DesPlaines river are Male

story to follow later this evening in the news, but immediate report is that the remains found are male, ruling out that they are not of the missing Stacy Peterson or Lisa Stebic.

no news on the barrel...just that the DNA does not match for Stacy or Lisa, and that the remains are definitely male. A pair of jeans and a wallet were also recovered from the same area at some point, no idea if it is related. Hopefully some family will get closure from this.
