Looks like we're in for some cruddy weather down there. I'm heading to the Portofino on Saturday. I only go to the parks for the rollercoasters, particularly Hulk. Is this rain going to ruin my fun? Should I just stay in and order room service?

I've ridden Hulk in the rain. Can you say, "OUCH"? Those little drops of water sure can hurt at those speeds. :D

From what I have experienced, the outdoor rides shut down when there is lightning in the area. A little rain, and the rides keep on going. :)

You can ride in the rain, except the drops will sting your face. Ever ride Millennium Force in the rain? Let's just say rain hitting your face at 92 mph caused the screaming on the coaster, not the coaster itself! :)

I checked the Orlando weather this morning and it only says showers possible for Sunday and the rest of the week looks great. Is this weather report not accurate?

Lightning within five miles, you lose the outdoor rides. Period.

The best rides I've ever gotten on Dueling Dragons were on the day that JP3 was released. I left the park in the late afternoon to see the movie, and when it let out it was pouring. There was a ton of rain. After waiting for it to clear out a bit I almost went home, but I decided to head back to IOA to check things out. Well, the place was deserted. Front row on the dragons was only a one or two train wait, and there was still a slight drizzle that stung a little bit, but combined with the darkness of the evening made the ride seem to be at least twice as fast. I can't even remember how many rides I got in that evening, most of which were in the front. I didn't want to leave when the park closed :).
