My husband was home for a week but he leaves today, of all days. He is doing is PhD in Montreal (I'm in Edmonton, three provinces away) and flying him home during seat sales is the only way we can afford to bring him home regularly. And the restrictions on the seat sale means he leave this afternoon. :sad1:

Even worse, I work all day and will be saying my goodbye before leaving.

I know we have very good reasons for this time apart but, man, does it suck sometimes. I can't seem to stop crying...

I know how you feel. This is the first v-day I get to spend with my dh and I in the four years. You'll see that this time will fly, and you will soon be able to be together for good. Until then, see if any of your girlfriends are available for a girls night. Pig out on sweets and watch a chick flick or two.

*hugs* Ember. I've been there. DH travels a lot for work, so its not uncommon that he misses Valentine's Day. He's actually home this year, but I don't think he remembers that today is V-day ;)

Know that this time will go by fast, and in the end the sacrifices you two are making will be worth it. I hope you can do something nice for yourself tonight.

:grouphug: hugs to all of you girls and thanks for setting an example that long distance relationships can work

Ember, my DF is doing his Ph.D in Montreal too.

Awe... Sorry your so upset. I kinda understand too though, alone last Valentine's Day and this one... and next one too. Just remember all the happy things and make up for it when he gets back.

I don't get to see my DF today either. Work and distnace gets in the way. Hugs to you though!

Sending you a  DH and I had a long distance relationship and even lived apart almost the whole first 5 months of our marriage. I know how you are feeling. I hope you will hang out with some friends tonight so that you don't have to be alone.

Thanks for the hugs, all.

Alice, I couldn't meet the requirements so I'm welcome when I'm able. But I work two jobs, so it's just not possible right now.
