New York: For the first time since the Presidential race became a two person contest last spring, there is a clear leader, the latest TIME poll shows. If the 2004 election for President were held today, 52% of likely voters surveyed would vote for President George W. Bush, 41% would vote for Democratic nominee John Kerry, and 3% would vote for Ralph Nader, according to a new TIME poll conducted from Aug. 31 to Sept. 2. Poll results are available on TIME.com and will appear in the upcoming issue of TIME magazine, on newsstands Monday, Sept. 6.

Bush vs. Kerry:
The economy: 47% trust President Bush more to handle the economy, while 45% trust Kerry.
----
This is a big change since last time, people are realizing that Bush has wiped out the recession he inherited faster than any recession has ever been stopped. Unemployment is going down, home ownership is at the highest level in our nation's history!

Providing strong leadership: 56% said they trust Bush to provide strong leadership in difficult times, while 37% said they trust Kerry to provide leadership in difficult times.

Commanding the Armed Forces: 54% said they trust Bush to be commander-in-chief of the armed forces, while 39% said they trust Kerry.

------

Bush got an 11% bounce from his convention, Kerry got 0-1%, I'd call this a TREMENDOUS success. Time to go out and party tonight for Bush!

That is a huge lead!

Okay, you go out and party, have a blast, toast til you drop and I'll do the getting sick part for you. ;) :p

I just saw that on the news. I hope it lasts through election day. I thought the convention was great and Bush hit on a lot of great points last night. Just MHO...

This is truly great news! Now we just have to keep it up until the election. I thought the convention was fantastic, it is good to see that most of the nation agrees.

Four More Years!!

People are seeing that he is the clear choice when it comes to National security... and frankly without this nothing else really matters.

:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce:

As a fan of the Boston Red Sox, can I just add....according to Kerry at 11:55 PM the Red Sox were 2 1/2 games out from the Yankees, its actually 3 1/2!!! So much for the "common" "avereage" Joe personna   :p

I was so "up beat" after George's speech last night, I had to turn off Kerry's desperate attempt at attention!!

WTH does that have to do with the price of tea in China? My Dad is a huge Red Sox fan and thought they were 2 and a half games behind. It's an easy mistake and fwiw, I've seen Senator Kerry at several Sox games.

Well to add to that, when asked who his favorite all-time Red Sox player was, Kerry named someone who never played for the Red Sox.

Uh on, don't turn this positive thread into Kerryisms. The Bushisms will come flying out and it won't be pretty! :p ;)

Pin Wizard I'm mad at you! For moving your Bush vote from Florida to my home state! You left the biggest tossup state in the nation to a state that hasn't gone Democrat since Lyndon Johnson. ;)

 LOLOLOL! Sorry! :teeth: It will be more fun voting here KNOWING that my vote will count! ;) I'm not so sure it did down there.

Have a margarita for me and enjoy the partying.

But............................................to further muddy the waters:

Zogby, for the same time period is showing Bush 46% and Kerry 44%.

The Rasmussan group is showing Bush 49% and Kerry 45%.

Ah, sweet mystery of life................
