So I was looking at the menu's for the o'hana buffet breakfast, and the supercalifragilistic (1900 park fare) breakfast buffet.
The one at GF has SO much more listed, for the same price!

Anyone eaten at both lately...are the menus correct?

Thanks

The Ohana breakfast comes to your table so with basicly the same food for everyone. 1900 Park Faire is a true buffet with a lot more choices. I've only eaten at 1900 which I thought was very good.

We've been to both. 'Ohana's is served family style at the table. They usually have the kids parade around withteh characters and I have seen them do the coconut races at breakfast. 1900 Park Fair is a buffett with many more choices and a little bit more relaxed feel to it. The character interaction as we encountered was very easy going and not rushed. If I had to choose only one I would pick 1900 park fair. I like to have more choices and I love the Strawberry soup!

Just echoing what others have said. You will get far more choices on a buffet than family style, however, with family style you get to sit and have your food brought to you - to me a fair trade off for the fewer choices.

I last ate at 1900 Park Faire years ago, and thought it was a really good buffet at that time. Ohana's food is ok - not great (no character meal has ever been great - I go for the characters, not for the food).

I'll have to disagree with the masses. After no less than four attempts to give 1900 Park Fare a chance, I just won't return. Food was lackluster and cold. Service was worse.

O'hanas is a must do every trip. I love the island decor of the restaurant. Plus everything is brought out hot and fresh to your table, service is great about bringing more of anything you need. Have always had great character interaction here as well.

Lilo and Stitch vs Mary Poppins...

for some reason Stitch wins out in our house!! :rotfl2:

I agree, note that with Character meals, you are paying for the "experience" or the Characters.. and that is why they do note on the ressies for a charge if you dont eat there (LTT for example...)

We have done both Ohana (2/18/06) and 1900 Park Faire (3/5/2006) I enjoyed both experiences very much, but 1900 PF definitely has been my favorite. The food was good, the service was excellent, and the character interaction was FABULOUS. We had a late seating, and at the end practically had all the characters to ourselves! It made my DD9 birthday and the first time character experience for our guests very special.

As stated more choices on the serve yourself buffet versus O'Hanas family style. However also I agree that the at times we have gotten good food at Park Fare and at times we have not and sometimes it was so crowded you could hardly even find the buffet.

At O'Hanas you don't get as many choices but what you do get was fresh, warm and not handled by other's at the buffet table. Yuck!

Also keeping everyone at their seats made for a better character experience. :thumbsup2

Well I think a lot of it has to do with whether or not you like buffets. My dh does not and prefers food be brought to us.

I have done the 1900 at GF a few times in the past for b'fast and dinner. I did not find the food to be spectacular, although it was okay, just average. If you are staying at the GF or at another monorail hotel it is easy enough to get there and make it convenient. I would not travel out of my way to do it though.

Huh? I dont understand what you are referring to here? :confused3

Thanks for the replies everyone!

We will be staying at Polynesian, so either would be easy to get to.
We did O'hanas for dinner last time and loved it.

It is great to have everyones comparisons!

I think eeyore45 was refering to the fact that the Liberty Tree Tavern charges a $5.00 entertainment fee for guests who are not dining there. I happened to see this posted on allears.net when I was researching some character dining options.
