Huge Difference in Anna and Elsa CM?

We are coming home from a completely magical week at Disney!! I really can't say enough wonderful things about our trip. Tons of wonderful memories made.

We were also so lucky to be able to meet Anna and Elsa twice, and well as Cinderella, Snow White, Aurora, Rapunzel, and Ariel. The first time we met E&A, it was very odd from all the other M&Gs. They seemed very quiet and not super engaging. It was more like say hello and take the picture and move on. The second time was magical. They were super chatty, got down on my daughter's level and were very engaging. It made me almost feel bad for those who waited for hours to meet the first two.

Just wondering if anyone else had a similar experience? I was wondering if these were new E&As?

We saw them for the 8th time today (:rolleyes1 ) and since the very first time we met them (in Norway about 2 weeks before the movie opened) Elsa has always been very reserved and quiet. She will always hug my daughter and she talks softly and is very polite (as is her character) and Anna is a little bit more boisterous and talkative and full of energy. We have encountered a couple 'friends' of Anna's who have been a little less engaging (today for example) but I would describe them as more quiet and not at all rude.

The girls do have very long days with a LOT of princess visitors and I can only imagine how much energy it requires to do their job. I cut them some slack for that reason. Generally, the Cinderellas and Auroras are also a bit more reserved compared to Snow White or Tiana or Ariel. But even that varies too on the ocassion and such. :)

Jeesh...give some others a chance! ;)

Given the popularity, I'm sure Disney did some scrambling to find a few friends of Anna and Elsa. I think they do have an "A" team though, who we got to meet a few weeks ago via FP+...they were very engaging, and the Anna was a hoot...

:rotfl::rotfl: Well, in our defense it's been 8 times since November. ;) And today we brought them chocolate so... :thumbsup2

(Also, #7 was a complete shock. pixiedust: )

Hmmmm. This makes me think I will keep our other Fp+ for them on our second MK day. I want the boisterous Anna.

How did they react to the chocolate?

They were really cute about it and said in unison "we LOVE chocolate!" :cloud9: Elsa said if Anna were giving a gift of chocolate to someone, they probably wouldn't arrive to their destination. :rotfl:

(They were actually fake chocolates I made for them. :) )

I just hope my five year old doesn't outright ignore Anna since she only ever talks of Elsa. If there was a place I could put a picture of the particular princesses that have gone above and beyond I would. We had a stellar Ariel at CRT our first trip. So sweet and talkative and came back for a second visit since DD 2 didn't want to let her go. Second trip Tink and Rapunzel stole the show hands down. Others have been nice, and some standoffish (Snow White, I'm looking at you;)), but I also try to remember how many hours they have to have their game face on, and it must be exhausting. I'd say the parents are more exhausting than the children by a long shot. LOL

We went yesterday and it was the worst meet & great Elsa said nothing. My daughter had said all sudden she had to goto the bathroom well and got upset we had a Fp. Anyways the picture was bad Anna was ok. But then aurora visiting princess was awesome took quite a few minutes talking to her we had wonderful pictures & interaction. No all are equal. But I think considering some are waiting 4-5 hours should at least say a word. We are going to retry again Monday. We'll see.

We didn't see A&E at Epcot in February: I hadn't seen the film at that point and thought it would be pointless. Plus we have a 30 minute limit on queues for characters and wouldn't have stopped anyway.

We found character interraction patchy. The best ones were where they'd just come out after a break (or changing people inside the suits, but don't let kids see that comment) and were more rested. It must be exhausting being constantly hugged and mauled all day long. DD had a lovely meet with Snow White and she spent quite a time with her - which is good seeing as DD is 20!

When I was in epcot in february I got to see them, after a 2.5 hour wait i got in and photopass camera was broken. Ended up speaking with em for about 10 minutes while they fixed it, was quite fun and they stayed in character entire time. "Anna" joking about it being my birthday and "Elsa" being very reserved in her speaking.

I'm pretty sure I met the "original" A&E in Norway in February; they were great. Elsa is more "refined" (that's the word I'd use) and Anna more vivacious, but they were both very chatty and sweet.

I'm gonna tell my "Ferb" story - I always go meet Phineas & Ferb every trip. This year I finally told Ferb that I'm what we call a "Ferbnessa Shipper" and I hope that he and Vanessa Doofenshmirtz end up together some day. He was totally 'deer in the headlights,' like he had no idea how to react. I said, "I know you like her, your eyes went like this" [big] "the first time you saw her." My buddy Phineas, bless him, knew what I was talking about and was pointing and nodding like, "Yeah, bro, you did that!" but Ferb just really seemed to have no idea what this crazy lady was going on about.

Couple of days later I was back at DHS, the P&F line was short and the boys were both being very animated (no pun) with the guests. I hopped in line for a do-over, started my, "Ferb, I know you like Vanessa..." spiel, and Ferb's friend-du-jour at once was nodding and putting his hands over his heart in the "in love" gesture and gave me a big hug when I told him the "Ferbnessa" thing. CMs do make a difference, and you do have to think that some of them are more "well-acquainted" with their character-friends than others.

It can definitely vary depending on who's "hanging out" with them for the day. I've been amazingly lucky and met the friend of Elsa's who they use for all the media stuff, and she's absolutely perfect.

As a character, Elsa is usually more reserved, talks quieter, while Anna is more outgoing and silly, it's part of the character, but sometimes you just get the love and shove from them, it's just what can happen sometimes which really does suck for those waiting long hours.

WOW, I was thinking the same thing...I feel very blessed to have secured one for my daughters, and see on here where others were not that fortunate. Hope every one that wants to see them has the opportunity.

I I hope I didn't sound ungrateful. I can't imagine being a friend and having to take pictures and hugs all day long. To always be on would be really hard. It was just do different than all the other m&g we experienced. I am very thankful we got to meet them twice.

This was exactly our experience on Saturday. Elsa wasn't interested in speaking at all, and made me feel awful for those waiting hours to see her. Anna was sweet, but you could tell Elsa set an odd mood. I was a little surprised to see how fast the meet & greet was going, too. The entire group let in with us was by A&E and gone from Aurora in less than five minutes! Our interaction with A&E was about 90 seconds of it, too. (This is based on the times of all the pics I took - I wasn't watching the clock!) It wasn't at all what I've been reading around here and very rushed. Glad our FP+ wait was only ten minutes!

Aurora did make the experience for my boys though! Great interaction with her and she spent several minutes playing with them. Loved her! :thumbsup2

I just want to say in my 12 trips, this could happen and has happened with any of the princesses....

The girls we met on May 7 were really good and super chatty with everyone. I was thinking, no wonder the lines are so long - they spend 5 or more minutes with each visitor. The folks 2 groups in front of us asked them to make a video for their grandkids (announcing a January 2016 trip) and they did it!

We have seen them a lot, but I have also waited hours alone with my 2 year old to see them in Norway. I've also gotten up at midnight to get FP+ and watched the site like a hawk. I'm an AP and can only book 30 days out and only 7 days at a time, so I've been very fortunate to have seen them multiple times with my 2 year old daughter (who ADORES them.) We are blessed to live locally, and frequent the parks weekly to see the characters.

On Sunday when we saw them, the two girls in front of (probably like 10 and 16 years old) sang the *entire* duet of 'For the First time in forever' to Anna and Elsa who patitently watched the performance.

Definitely a better group today they were great Elsa was reserved but still interacted. We went in the morning which may have helped. They both hugged and Elsa was walking over to get kids too now. Obviously not the only person who felt they weren't doing their job met someone who said there have been a lot of complaints about a & e. I understand not all m & g are magical. But at least say a word.

We saw them last Wednesday and Elsa was very quiet. I know that is supposed to be her character, but she didn't even move from her spot to greet us. I was not impressed with her at all. We took my 2 boys because my younger DS loves Frozen and especially Elsa. They were both acting very shy and Anna went out of her way to be nice and chatty and even told us a Knock Knock joke. Elsa basically just stood there and did nothing. Like I said, I get that this is their routine and they are in character, but Elsa could still interact more and still be in character.

I'm glad we had a FP+ for this, I can't imagine waiting in line for 6 hours and then being disappointed by this.
